Found my watch from the 70's

A few days ago my brother found one of my old watches in his attic. My second ever watch iirc. I remember getting this in the mid 70's, when I was about 13, and haven't seen it for about 40 years. The day that I found out about it happened to be my own son's 13th birthday...I offered it to him but he couldn't have been less interested! :-/

A bit of PolyWatch & a new strap & it's looking really cool...as things do from the 70's. I really like the second hand & the lume on this. It's running quite well considering. It could do with a service, however I'm not sure the movements on these are servicable. Anybody know much about them. Reading about similar watches it may be a cal. 25.

I thought it was going to be a Timex before opening!

I had the simple black-faced 24hr Timex that sold by the bucketload.

6yrs later I had moved on to a Seiko Bullhead Chrono - and so the journey continued.

Cool find. I guess I can relate to your sentiment. I still own and regularly wear my 1972 B’day present: a Seiko.

That look superb. I recently found my first watch, a Newmark Water king from the 70s.

That, to me is an extremely cool watch. If it was mine, long lost from the 70s and found again it would also be priceless. Fab find!

Looks like a genuine tropic strap, got to be worth 300 for the strap

I had a diver's style Timex in the early '70s with the same hands and similar '25 METRES' text, one of these:

The countdown bezel was very handy for exams.

Ah memories, my first watch was a timex in the 60’s, remember clear as yesterday going to uncles for family Sunday dinner and sitting in the toilet crying. He asked what was wrong and told him I’d broken my watch and I would be in big trouble, he took a look at the watch and told me it was all working fine, just needed winding up :) lovely watch op

That's a lovely looking thing. Really like the racing (?) dial.

I think it was because the OP said he had added a new strap.
