Glad to see an orange monster on a blue nato. Just like mine
I recently found this Hodinkee article (apologies if this has been posted before, it is one year old now):

Personally I think the 7548 should be on there. Maybe the RAF issued 7a28 too.
What would feature in your top 10?

I would definitely have the UFO in there.
I'd rather it was top 20. ;-)
King Seiko, Grand Seiko, and an early Seiko quartz should be in there. Also the first quartz chrono, the dancing hands watch (although that's more of a novelty than top).
I'm glad the Monster made it, although I was surprised at the specificity of making it an orange Monster.
P.S. And how could I forget: A Spring Drive.

Great list, but a list of my favourite Seiko watches would feature hardly any of those - all very much of a muchness in my eyes I'm afraid to say, fantastic watches in their own right but six of the ten were black dial divers.
How can the Arnie not feature? Might be a bit naff now but that was a cutting edge watch in the 80's with the digi/ana display and packed with features.
I think if I was putting my own top ten together it'd be some of the more obscure (and colourful!) stuff;
Seiko Sawtooth (orange)
Seiko Caesar (yellow dial kinetic)
Monster of course, but again maybe the original yellow model or the Red dial limited edition
Seiko Boss kinetic (black, orange... flip a coin)
Definitely one of the original SKJ series kinetic divers, I love the original titanium model
Definitely a second gen Arctura thrown in for good measure, probably SNL001.
Possibly an RAF gen 1 or 2, but...
...I fancy a four-way of the ultra iconic watches; Arnie, UFO, Turtle and Bellmatic!
I have spoken.

Seiko Flightmaster 411/413 etc. Great quartz chrono, great price, a little busy but looks amazing I think. I know a few on here have one too…
Could have easily been a top 20. Good list though, thanks for sharing.
Shame not to see a Marine Master on there but you’re never going to please everyone.
Pogue might deserve its place, but it wasn't the first automatic chronograph, the Pogue variant was later (2 years or so from memory), in 1969 6139s were blue.
It's an interesting summary but being a Seiko fanatic for 42 years, my favourites list would have been slightly different. All personal choice of course.
I would have replaced the orange monster and Seiko 5 fairly easily for two far superior classic watches, and both are simply in a different league IMPO. First is the 6138-3002 Jumbo Chronograph. Next is what I feel is the best Seiko of all time. The 7549 steel Tuna. The mm300 would make it a top 11 for me.

These top tens are always subjective and everyone's is going to be different. Especially with Seiko.
Cheers,
Neil.
Maybe that list makes sense with nostalgia goggles on but just for an example the King Samurai i had easily wipes the floor with a monster or 007/009
Everyone has their own taste and their own preferences, and to be fair they called it their top 10 favourite Seikos, not best. Very heavy on dive watches though and a distinct lack of dress watches. Personally I would at least have a 57GS, 44GS or 62GS in there. See Martin's blog for images of all three and background information:

The iconic H558?
I guess any top 10 is a conversation starter, but I agree with a couple of earlier posts.
Too many similar watches and the absence of the 6138-3002 is baffling to me.

Breitling Cosmonaute 809 - What's not to like?
Some iconic watches listed for sure but I would like to see the watches they omitted, I would guess the MM300 and Gen 1/2 would be somewhere on the list.

6159-7000 , an iconic watch. Wish I could afford one!

One of my all time favourite watches is the Pogue - 6139.
For me it will always be the watch that started me off on this crazy and expensive passion!
The omission of the Gen1 is glaring considering it was powered by the best designed quartz powered chrono movement ever. IMHO!
Seiko not GS. You could never make a combined Top 10.
I agree ref the MM300 and RAF Gen 1/2.
Their choice of Seiko 5 is an odd one. There are plenty to choose from, but the OP-style SNXS79 takes some beating.
Less popular but impressive are the Astron range. They’d never make the list though.
