My days of Seiko at this price are over. I’d get the Rdunae version for £130 instead.
These are nice.
I've always wondered why Seiko hadn't rolled out any models inspired by the 6105-8000 - much prefer the case shape over the Willard.
As a hughe seiko fan, the current rrps are not worth it for quality compared to others in the market these days.

Like the case. Don't like the dial. Don't like the date window. Don't like the bracelet. Don't like the price.
I think I probably have too many Seikos and this doesn't stack up against them IMO.
Maybe at £500 for a used one I could change my mind.
Lovely cases, wouldn’t mind seeing the black in the flesh but I suspect it would be a tad undersized for me.
It's like ceramic bezel inserts never happened in Seiko land... Yet £100 Chinese beaters have them!
Shame, because Ithe white-dial in particular. Great watches in all other ways. But no.
Probably because I’m not a Seiko collector but every time I see a new Seiko diver release, they all look so similar to the hundreds of models that are already available.

A no date seiko SLA diver would be my dream but no doubt they would find a way to ruin it somehow.

They make so many admirable watches, but also have a knack of snatching-defeat-from-the-jaws-of-victory with some jarring quirk or other - and I speak as someone who actually likes day/date displays, cyclops, 4-o'clock crowns and dates, &c!
When they were a bit of a bargain, you could overlook it, perhaps, but now with unceasing price-inflation?
They should have made it no date with a 6r31, used square indices, like the Willard reissue and priced it more reasonably. Shame really. Missed opportunity.

Those new 5 GMTs look to be more promising at a more promising price point.
White model looks great, quite pricey though.
Looks good but if I wanted a Japanese heritage diver with an aluminium insert and probably try the new Citizen NB6021 first. Cheaper too

At first glance they look really nice until you notice the Date window, which to me unfortunately ruins the whole dial symmetry and for the price..mmmnnn.
Others have mentioned the Rudnae would possibly be better quality, if this goes by their R2X Willard whilst a good watch for the price, the quality is nowhere near the level of the SPB151J1 (and it shouldn't be for the price point) as I own both watches.
Close, but definitely no cigar. It's too expensive, and it's still too chunky for me.
I'm struggling to get excited about Seiko these days. There are several models that I'm tempted by, but pricing, the QC roulette, and some of their design choices are keeping away.
10% off preorders via WatchO but still too juicy imo.

Not convinced. And that bloody “X”.
They do some watches so well - MM300 take a bow - but others seem a bit of an afterthought.

Having looked a bit more into these I think I'd rather push a bit more and get another SLA021. Only noticed the X in pictures but never when I had it on the wrist. Superb watch.
No mention of the lug width,needs to be 19mm for it to be in keeping with the original case shape.
…and they’ve ruined it with that ghastly ‘X’ on the dial.

I’m sure I read somewhere it is 20. I really like it but the lume pip isn’t even central in the triangle on the promo shots!
Pre-ordered one today from the Dutch Seiko webshop. It's due to be delivered in July. We'll see if the bezel aligns etc. And I'm sure that there will be an aftermarket ceramic bezel within a few weeks. Seiko watches are like Porsches. You can do with / to them what you like.

I'd missed that, but bluddy 'ell - you're right! How can Seiko possibly consider that acceptable on ~£1000 wristwatch!?
It also isn't centred on the 12hr marker in the image - though that may just be the photographer's oversight.
Looks like every other Seiko out there.

When I wrote "Ouch. That is a very steep price for what this is, in my opinion." above I hadn't even noticed the off-centre pip or the badly fitting end links.
It's very peculiar. What are Seiko thinking? Are they having systematic QC issues in some of their factories? If so it's very sad.
£200 watches from micro-startups (who surely have less control over factory QC processes than should Seiko) often seem to do better.
Looks cool. But £500 is my limit for Seikos. I think the models around the 1k mark have too many flaws to justify the price.
