I've sold many watches in the last few years but there's only one I definitely regret letting go; a mint Rolex GMT Master II Pepsi, 16710.

The one that hurts the most has to be the rose gold yachtmaster, 116655 miss that one dearly !

We've all done it. The three I really regret moving on...

    1. 1990 Speedmaster (for £900!)
    2. Seamaster Mariner quartz
    3. Zinex Nitrox with lumed bezel

    But, that's life; that's WIS-life.

My first propa watch was a 2008 Sinn 857 UTC. After 14 years and over a thousand watches bought and sold, the one I ended up as my 'does everything I want and need watch' is a... yep, a Sinn 857 UTC.

No wonder people think we're mad.

Sold a Kermit and a black dial Daytona for a combined sum that would not be large enough to buy either watch now.

But the major regret is this

And the minor regret is this

Two minor regrets, I let me kids smash up my daily watch of 10 yrs plus with a hammer after it had sat in my night tray for at least 5yrs with a dead battery. It was a cheap watch, initially the battery lasted 4-5 yrs but gradually lasted less with each change.

Eventually I upgraded to my first proper mechanical watch and the daily sat unused/unloved for many years. The wife and kids would alway ask me why I was keeping it and eventually I agreed to let it good. The kids knew how attached I was to it but asked if they could open it up and have a look inside, I didn’t realise they meant open it with a hammer, but by which time I was fine with it. Kids loved the experience and I was pleased it passed well.

The second is selling my first proper watch, another 15yrs worth of ownership with a great life, the watch had appreciated and was sold at a good time.

I still think about that watch as my first, and wish I kept it. However in reality, it meant I could do a couple of other things with the funds and ultimately it was the right decision at the time.

    Would i change anything - nope :)

    LOL! That's funny.

I swear this is the weirdest hobby of all.
