Six watches nearly binned, - can anyone shed any info on them?

My friend's elderly Mum was about to throw away all of these watches (!).

I guess the best thing is to take them to a jeweller and get them valued, but thought I'd share them here in case anyone can shed some info or even worth on them. I can get some better photos, appreciate one is blurred. Thanks for looking.

Lots of not very much there sadly. But number one is interesting. It's a UG Polerouter and is good find watch!
Other replies might be able to give you a better idea as to value, but can you share some more photos of it?

Not sure about the 5 women's dress watches but the Universal Geneve Polerouter is a desirable piece and highly collectable if original. I can't comment on the condition / originality from that photo (and based on my limited knowledge). There are certainly people here or on the Omega Forums that have a far greater knowledge and should be able to help.

The UG is £1200-£1500 or so - more if in great condition and/or with paperwork etc

The UG is a really great watch to have in a random mixed lot. It looks like a ref. 20368-1 but there were so may iterations it’s hard to be sure. Crown looks incorrect but everything else looks good as far as can be possibly seen. Better pics required.

Wow - she'll be pleasantly surprised! I'll see if she has any paperwork/boxes/receipts etc. High likelihood that it'll be genuine, as her husband was a successful businessman. I'll get some more photos of all of them. Thank you everyone so far.

The Polerouter is the star of the show and, if you look on the back, hopefully you'll be able to see some numbers inscribed. The picture below gives you an idea (but is from a different model to yours).

One number gives the model reference and the other is the unique serial number of the watch which should also allow you to date it, approximately.

As already stated, the crown is not original and it's extremely difficult to find loose ones - almost impossible, I'd say. The even patination of the dial is attractive and won't impinge on value that much but the estimate above looks like someone has been snorting the Hoodinkee marching powder. The edges on the case look to be fairly sharp which is always nice to see.

The others will only be worth any scrap value in the gold, unfortunately. Assuming there is any. I'd be curious to know the reason why the pocket watch has 58 (or maybe 56) on the dial - do you think it may be year of manufacture or does it belong to the era when brands were engaged in some sort of jewels arms race? What movement does it have?
    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

The little cocktail watch on the black silk strap is very similar to one my ex MiL had.
It was platinum and diamonds and dated from the mid 20’s.
    It was worth four figures.

Number 6 looks to be a Tudor but the photo is not clear enough to be sure

    Some more info & photos:

She believes the Tudor watch was made by Rolex.

Numbers on back read 932933. 1283.

On the buckle there are also the letters CBSV.

This one is 14k gold and has 30 tiny diamonds

She has no history on the Universal Geneve, but the numbers on the back read:
    20368-1
    2239126

She also believes that the watches could possibly be a circa hundred years old as they may have been her or her dad's mum's watches.

Well, I'm stating what I'm sure you know but she is of course right about it being made by Rolex.

Can't advise on value but it's definitely worth something (eBay probably a good bet I reckon, especially if you're willing to sell abroad via GSP).

I wonder how old this is. I reckon that it would be worth a little more than scrap value but I couldn't put a hard valuation on it.

It's a very appealing little thing (as is the Tudor), imo. I think some ladies would still enjoy wearing this Lady on a suitable night out.

I'm sure you've looked at the table above provided by @Carlton-Browne but these numbers would date it to 1962-1963.

By the way, what diameter is the UG? I'm not familiar with UGs but I would have thought that diameter would make a difference to price and saleability. I don't know whether or not UG ever made a lady's size Polerouter.

That would put them around the 1920s and I reckon they all come a little after that. My guess is that they are all 1940s or later, perhaps even 50s/60s.

We know the UG is early 60s and the Picador has to be 70s/80s.

But these are all just my guesses from several years of looking at vintage ladies' watches on eBay and at my parents' and relatives'. It saddens me that they don't make more money as they are often very aesthetically appealing.

On purely aesthetic grounds, I rather like that 1970s (probably) Picador quartz (#5 in the OP).

Embedded pics for reference, if I may be so bold.

    1: UG Polerouter.

    2: Rotary cocktail watch.

3: Basis pocket watch. (I wonder if this has a Poljot movement. I have a very similar Poljot or Luch (can't remember which) pocket watch that dates to the 60s or 70s).

    4: Lady cocktail watch.

5: Picador quartz cocktail watch (70s or 80s).

    6: Tudor cocktail watch.

Really interesting to hear your take on these watches Mark, and very generous of you to clean up the presentation. Thank you, hugely appreciated!

I'll find out the diameter of the UG. And I'll show the owner of these watches this thread when I see her :)
