I think these are scale insects. I've seen them on trees from time to time. These are the females with maturing eggs under their carapace.

I have a grapevine that’s growing outside but under cover, it’s doing really well but I’ve found these little black “things” on it an I’ve no idea what they are, they don’t appear to have any sort of head or legs and are slightly sticky to the touch. Can see in the picture where I’ve removed a couple of them and it leaves a white residue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
