Anyone sold a watch through Watchmaster

Hi

Has anyone sold a watch through Watchmaster recently & if so how did the process go?
Looking at moving on a GMT2 and would like to hear from anyone who may have had dealings with them recently.

I have no experience with them, but I always thought they were a scam website. Every time I would search for a watch, there site would come up with some ridiculously low prices.

Again I have no dealings and so could be completely wrong.

As I understand it they don’t buy it from you like watchfinder, they act as an agent and take a fee. Not used them but their quotes were similar to the usual suspects.

I’ve sold to them a couple of years ago. You have a choice of a direct sale or commission type sale. I did ask for a quote for something in the last six months and it was really low

As above they sell on commission.

Watchmaster and subdial both sell on an approx 6.5% plus vat commission.

Watchfinder will buy but prices are lower than a couple of months ago.

I know this after wasting time* getting a few quotes to sell some watches.

* they were very slow providing the quotes.

I can highly recommend Subdial.

Watchfinder are weird - they didn't want to put an offer on either a BNIB Rolex Milgauss, a BNIB Tudor Black Bay Chrono white dial or a BNIB Tudor FXD. I don't mean they lowballed I mean there was a standard email response saying they weren't interested in any of these pieces!

Sounds like they dont want or have the cash to layout on stock, times are a changing but I would be uneasy letting a company like this have my watch to sell on commission, they could just shut the doors leaving debts that could be liquidated from your watch..

Exactly, it can sit in my safety deposit box just as easily as theirs with a lot less risk.

Not sure if that would be the case, they wouldnt legally own the watch.
