I found the series Cosmos by Carl Sagan a must watch when I was 18 and that led me to the music of Vangelis as his 3rd movement of Heaven and Hell was the theme tune - hypnotic.
RIP Vangelis.

"Albedo 0.39" is a great album, from 1976.
One of the greatest composers of the 20th century IMO.
Blade runner and Chariots of Fire are hard to beat but I also loved The Bounty

His Blade Runner soundtrack was such a major part of that movie. The sparkly, tingling element just sits so beautifully - like the pin sharp lights over an otherwise bleak and dark LA landscape.
