    Mudmaster battery change woes.

Well I've read every page known to man on resetting the 5476 module in my Mudmaster after a battery change but the bastard think still doesn't work.
Press ing buttons doesn't seem to do anything, I cant get the dial set to time and all it shows is eithe Fri or Hset.

Had a new module fitted by Casio too around 2 years ago but never used it much and the battery faded.

    Damn and blast

I seem to remember when I did mine years ago I had to, hard to explain, earth the battery to the module. I mean take an open paper clip and touch the battery and module with either end. That's a crap description but it worked and it ran for years. Maybe have a Google.

    Good luck.

Done the shorting the AC thing, I guess? Tried a different battery?

New Batteries seem fine. Matters not anymore, I've had the back off that many times trying to get the reset AC thing to work that I've lost one of the little screws, now the watch just thinks the back is open all the time.

My last Gshock. I've had problems from day 1 with this.

Sorry you've had such difficulties with it!

It occurs to me you might be able to get more screws from Casio UK.

SC is your friend for this, I guess. ;-)

A lot of the fancy (and expensive) modern ana digi versions seem to have a lot of issues - whereas the old basic digital jobs are bulletproof. I’ve read lots of threads about the same sort of issue tbh, replacing batteries in the ‘old skool’ G’s is a doddle !

I meant to say this before: It could be that one of the little springs on the back of the module has pinged away. This could be a case open sensor.

I didn't know that they had case open sensors but I guess they do!

You can potentially make a replacement spring using the spring from the inside of a spring bar. I've done this successfully before for a piezo speaker contact spring.

    Mudmaster battery change woes.

Fashioned a new spring, the case is sensed as closed but I still can’t get it to work.
    Module is useless now.
Strap , outer case bezel, box and tin are good though

    Unfortunate. Sorry to hear that.

Well done on the case open sensor spring, though. :-)

Would definitely sell as spares/repair on eBay.
