You can’t “load” foreign currency on a Starling account. It’s a UK current account.

Sorry, but I can, as I speak I’ve got £80 and € 203 euros on mine
You go into the app and tell your card which balance to use

so easy to use, and you can have multiple currencies/spending and transaction limits etc. you can even transfer across at particular times of day for a better rate. (rates are competitive too)
they do not work on aircraft for buying food/booze for some reason.
I use Revolut; excellent for managing multiple currencies and no silly fees.

I now do all my "casual" spending on Revolut partly to ring fence my main bank account from any fraud risks. I set the auto top up at £200 and it all works very well. Also had good analysis in the app to see where the money is going.

OK I guess technically I was incorrect.

You have a Euro current account alongside your UK current account (you can’t have the euro one unless you have the UK one).

You stated “foreign currency” and whilst the euro is a foreign currency, you can’t “load” any other foreign currency.

The OP I believe stated he was travelling to Canada and the Euro current account would be pretty pointless.

Nobody's mentioned TransferWise so I'll roll that out as another option too! Works really well along similar lines to Starling
