    Iwc mk xii advice

Hi. Ive recently started thinking about buying an iwc mk xii.
Ive read most of the articles and info that i can find via Google, etc. I was wondering if there happened to be a kind soul on here that might provide some advice on what to look for?
I vaguely remember there one being for sale on here a long time ago that threw up some discussion about dials - i might well be misremembering.
I suppose most importantly i would appreciate a steer on current pricing. Have looked on the usual big sites and as always there appears to be a huge spread in asking prices.
    Many thanks in advance.

I have recently become a big fan of IWC watches from this era. Not sure on Mark XII but for others the main differences seem to be whether the dials are mix of tritium and luminova, or all luminova. And latterly the dials had applied rather than printed indices. Personally I prefer the printed, more in keeping with the tool watch vibe.

This era IWC seems to be an area of relative value.

I don't think the XII ever had applied indices other than the lume triangle. There was a version of the XV with applied indices. Here's a gratuitous pic.

    And here is mine

Tritium all the way. They are not always easy to photograph because of the flat crystal and the lack of AR coating, at least for someone with my limited photo skills.

Most were originally sold on a leather strap but a few can be found with the IWC beads of rice bracelet.

Think it was mine on SC a while back. I saw sense and kept it. Mine is a service dial ie no T for tritium at the bottom.

Many thanks for the responses chaps. Lovely looking watch Nick! Any ideas as to where to find one for sale?

Beads of rice bracelet; I prefer the strap.

    Good luck with finding one.

Mine is as well, the dial was replaced at a service because the lume triangle broke. I certainly preferred the tritium dial and the plots were just starting to age nicely - but I still love it to bits with the replacement dial. The luminova would be nice to have if the tritium on the hands wasn't dead.

Great looking watch. Is the crown screw down? What’s the WR?

However the PRS-48 seems a better proposition to me.

Yes, screw-down crown (it's an auto). Don't know what the WR is, at a guess 50m? I have both and they complement each other nicely.

I think i read somewhere that the fish on an iwc crown signifies 50m. Not sure if true.
