While ill admit im not expert on the prices of all the models £2.5k seems a bit steep! Makes the sea of £700 Jubilee models seem cheap.

The original Dreadnoughts are well regarded amongst the Hodinkee crowd. I wouldn't be surprised if 2.5k is just the beginning.
Limited numbers vs not, original vs 'sequel', greater WR.
Personally, I really like the Voyager, wouldn't swap it for the original (setting relative values aside) and am equally baffled as to why it's such a slow mover, but equally I can understand the interest in the original Dreadnought.
Secondhand Voyagers are, I believe, one of the biggest watch bargains around - I've sometimes toyed with getting a second one and having it polished! (Is it a sin to admit that? )
