Haveston single pass through nato Vs Watch Gecko single pass through nato

I recently bought the straps in the title above.

    Link to Haveston:

    Link to WatchGecko:
    https://www.watchgecko.com/watchgeck...ato-strap-grey

They are leagues apart for the reasons stated below.

    - The WatchGecko one is more taupe than grey so not as described it almost looks a shade of green in some lights.
    - The WatchGeko one is too flimsy and as a result the watch head sits oddly on the wrist. You can also see the weave direction looking stretched because of this.
    - The hardware and design of the WatchGecko one is poor and feels cheap compared to the Haveston one. The main issue I had was the metal cylinders either side of the pin that fits in the sizing holes are very loose. They rattle around even with the watch on the wrist.

I contacted WatchGecko about the last point and they simply said it’s normal and they will speak with the design team.

By contrast the Haveston one is superb! It has better hardware, is better designed so as not to rattle etc and is stiffer so holds the watch on the wrist better too.

This might just be an issue with the WatchGecko style I bought but yeah, not impressed.

Very happy with this Haveston strap.

Thanks, that's useful to know. For the £5 difference in price it sounds like money well spent.

It makes a stunning combination with your Seiko by the way !

Look great. How long are the straps, can you tuck the tail away easily?

There’s no “tuck under” and associated bulk as with a standard Nato strap because of the sliding keeper. A while ago I posted some measurements as to the approx. max and min wrist sizes that their straps will work with, I'll dig them out and post later. The lengths are all on the Haveston website, the latest canvas versions are longer, lots of info in the “Rubber & Nylon” sub forum.

That’s interesting. I couldn't spot anything with the same specs as the Havestons on there, could you post a link please? Also, have you tried any and can comment on their quality please?

These are the measurements from their site. It’s not a tuck under style so no ability to do that.

Do you know where on AliExpress? Up to this point I’ve been reluctant to buy stuff from AliExpress due to the apparent lack of buyer protection. However, that was for electronic devices such as an Anbernic handheld console. In the end I went for a lightly used Anbernic from a UK seller but AliExpress might be okay for low value items like watch straps.

    Thanks,

    Dave
