The most money i have ever spent on a book

I was wandering around enjoying the Easter Sunday weather wearing my favourite watch

and I stumbled in to a few antique places where i found this book. It was labelled as very rare, and it was more money than i've ever spent on a book. However a quick flick through to pages 130 onwards and i see these images. I decided that it was a must have buy. I can be a little impulsive, but no regrets here, a great coffee table reference book. I don't know if it's rare, but it certainly goes well with my ploprof. Anyone else like a book to accompany their watches?

    Well, yes - The Book.

Not as much as you spent by the sound of it (£75) but very good value imho. And it came with a load of Breitling goodies.

More of a catalog. I kept this one for reference. Lovely book binding and the pics are “life size”.

I have often bought very expensive books at ADs. But usually a watch comes with it:-)
    Nice book,BTW.
As a PloProf fan, I hope you have the PloProf book by Jon Wallis. The definitive PloProf book.

Around £450 for a cookery book ( well comprises four smaller books in the volume). £400 for a fat duck book and similar for Ramseys three star book.

I see you have gone vintage with your preference to the legendary Omega dive watch, i thought you were a diehard 1200 fan owning many examples?

The 600`s are far, far nicer.....

Do the photos in the book show the dial to be dark blue? They look black from here.
Ive never seen a red crown one on one either!
Of all the watches I have owned, I wish I still had mine.
    Cheers..

Thought I recognised that Omega book when I saw your post last night… just found a copy in a drawer… never read, looks brand new! Not sure when I got it or why… if it’s rare I may have to flog it!!

I have the 70 year old book Anatomy Of Time by Rolex, it fills a gap in the cupboard and this thread has reminded me to look it out

I do like a watch book and have a mini library of them but I think the most I ever spent was £50 for a second hand copy of Rolex - the best of time.
    Cheers,

I’d buy that book if you’d sell it? Please. Thanks

I adore this book. I was very impressed when I read it for the hundredth time and I remember that I also spent a lot of money on it. However, I did not regret it. Now I plan to buy a few books to help me write my own research. At https://edubirdie.com/examples/police-brutality/ I once read a few thoughts on police brutality in our country and decided to contribute to the study of this problem as well.
