    Footage from San Francisco - 1906 & 1940s

Chanced upon these, the earlier one was just 4 days before the huge earthquake & fire that destroyed an estimated 80% of the city. Interesting windows into the past.

The second one looks like Chinatown.

San Francisco in the 1940's - setting of many film noirs.
    Cheers,

    Quite mesmerising!

I went to work in San Fransico for a couple of weeks in 2019…. Was really disappointed

Haight St was ok, but around the peer areas it has just turned into a low budget Disney parade…. And the Golden Gate Bridge decided to be cloudy when I went over to Marin County…!!!

    The homelessness is truly shocking

The videos show a city of greater substance and credibility

I was there for a few days in the summer of 1999. All looks very familiar. I took a cable car to Fisherman's Wharf one afternoon and walked back to my hotel near Union Square.
