I love G Shocks and own quite a few, apart from the Casioak which I really don't like. Good seller for Casio though which I guess is why they keep peddling it out in various different guises.

I’m a digital man when it comes to g shocks. On another note I don’t understand why this isn’t multiband 6 and instead relies on an app and Bluetooth which seems a backward step imho? I’ve got a couple of metal squares that have BT and multiband - don’t really understand the benefit of the Bluetooth element at all unless you live somewhere that can’t receive the signals.

I'd need a cyclops to see that digital readout.

Availability of a positive display is good, as is solar. Pity it's not multiband (as others have said), but it's a good move. I might be tempted.

Or they are no longer available, if for instance one or more of them have been closed down by the sponsoring governmental department as a soft budgetary saving.

There was a lot of talk about this a few years ago, didn’t happen though!

Great that they have added these features. I don’t need another 2100 though!

I commented on one of the GA-2100 threads last year that I'd buy one if there was a solar version. But then I bought one anyway, so I'll probably make do. Or perhaps I do need a yellow one.

I think everyone needs that yellow one, or the blue one, or... ;)

Point addressed in this hands-on video, about 4 minutes in. Briefly, there'll be an app that you can use to set timezones, alarms, config and so on.

Might be worth signing up with casio for early access.

Have done that, I do like the yellow one and despite not getting a comfortable fit on the original Casioak I am still tempted by the new version. Maybe I can somehow get a different strap to fit.

There are strap adaptors available for the current casioaks, assume they'll fit these. I don't know the manufacturers sorry but a quick Google search should find some.

I think it's going to win many friends. Also it will probably be a good £70 or more cheaper than the retail price of a moon swatch and do literally everything much better, much better.

I currently own the black with white indices. I can see myself picking up a solar, but I’m going to wait until there’s some nice discounts on them.

When I had a regular model I had the Jays & Kays adapters and they were very good.

For me, much more fun than the Omega/Swatch thing. Looking forward to getting one of these!

  25. #25
I like them, as the original. I just need a second hand though, just looking at one on a YouTube review without a second hand drives me nuts.
I keep on trying to talk myself into it, but it's a no go.

I felt the same and suspect that will be what finally stops me boarding the G-Shock train.

I was wearing my Precista Aerotimer yesterday and the lack of a running second hand does grate.

The weird thing is they do make a few solar/atomic models with a second hand. I had a gst-b200 with a brilliantly clear STN negative display and a second hand, made a big difference to the watch imho. Like every Casio I’ve had with a second hand it hit every single marker too.

Well, the day I never imagined has arrived, I just pre-ordered one too!

I went for the black one.

The 10% 'new customer' discount helped.

I’ve got the old model yellow, but this definitely looks sharper (by the photos).
I’ve ordered the new yellow too.
