HELP Need A Panerai Main Spring Barrel For A 177

So I dropped my Panerai 177 to Lance at the Birmingham Watch Repair Ltd after the main spring snapped
But unfortunately not only has the main spring snapped but its lost some teeth from the barrel as well and
Lance can't get hold of one turns out Panerai will not supply him one
So does does anyone know where I can get holed of one ?

This is likely going to be a stupid comment but would a standard 6497 spring and barrel not work?

No, the teeth are a finer pitch on the Panerai.

6497.1 and 6497.2 have different beat rates, the spring barrels are listed differently, doesn’t one of these match up to the Panerai?

The Panerai has a bigger main spring as it holds 56 hours of power and so their not compatible :(

The 6497.2 mainspring works fine with the Panerai although you do lose about 2hrs power reserve. The barrel won't fit though, from memory the arbor is different and the teeth are a finer pitch meaning more teeth on the barrel and more leaves on the centre wheel pinion.

I've found some photos, the two barrels below are for a 6487.2 and a 6497.1 respectively, as you can see they have coarse pitched teeth.

The barrel below is from a PAM 177, the pitch of the teeth is a lot finer than on the Unitas ones.

Surprised that the Panerai uses a bespoke mainspring, barrel and centre wheel, but that appears to be the case and it’s necessitated by the increased power reserve, an increase that doesn’t achieve any worthwhile advantage.
