I actually like the GMT. I have tried to order. So fingers crossed…

I think the air king has had some improvements. I assume the extreme grey price increase of the old one will lessen.

That would make it a well informed comment from a true WIS - except in the eyes of another reader who disagrees with the post so sees it as a moan from someone who clearly has no idea what they are talking about and shouldn’t be allowed a platform!

Surely they will just make all options in LH and the Green in RH. It's not as if it would need any additional effort. All same parts

I wonder what will happen with prices now!

Just amazed with the cheapest I can see being £35k and one at £45k!

Didn’t spot from the image I saw. A definite improvement. The chrome numbers were a complete turn off for me. The AK was one of the last (non-Datejust) steel models to languish in my AD’s window 3/4 years ago. I tried it on and could have been persuaded had it not been for that.

36mm yellow gone too! Quite liked the look of the yellow dial.

The yellow was/is lovely in person.

Definitely don’t see the Deepsea being an improvement. Not having the diving link extension means that the 126660 is going to have its unique place. The thinner bezel and change to the crystal is not enough to cover for the loss of that divers extension.

Earlier today I saw a few meh new models on the Rolex website. During the course of the day I’ve seen lots of comment about specifications I didn’t see on the Rolex site.

Did they release data throughout the day or did I just do a bad job looking for new models ?

the accountants won't see it like that. Prob say it maximizes potential and keeps costs down. Only 1 case to stock and produce. With the Deep sea link now gone are they all on the same bracelet?

I love the bezel colour of the new GMT, but it hurts my brain just looking at it. It’s just upside down.
    Very quirky I guess.

As time goes on I understand this less and less. The current models have been unobtainable for the last few years unless one is prepared to pay grey prices. Rolex 'people' know what they want from new releases and what's likely to be popular yet Rolex don't listen to that and offer up what appear to be quite random designs. Rolex restricts supply of everything so buying one is highly unlikely yet 'people' still we their knickers over them.

I know I'm not their target audience but I just don't get it.

Strange decision to drop them colours i wonder if its to do with the Tiffany nautilus in particular to the candy blue

I've tried to bring myself round to the southpaw GMT, but it's not happening - going to go for 2 existing models instead (fingers crossed one turns up this year).

    Yawn.

Nice watches for sure, desirable, but nothing genuinely new there. Not worth any hype.

Hype-worthy would have been: You can actually buy these.

That surprises me. Rolex genuinely started a trend with those cutesy coloured dials and now they are pulling back on it somewhat.

Perhaps it was all a big joke: Look at what we can make you (the rest of the watch industry) do just to ape us and look at what we can make you (the customers) lust after.

I'd have thought it was the opposite. Rolex just solidified the hype on those watches, I would think the secondary market will gain as a result.

All a bit underwhelming. The upside down GMT looks ridiculous to me and that AirKing is only slightly less fugly

All of them unobtainable anyway, what has Rolex become?

The Left handed GMT 'After Eight' will sell for more than a new Daytona but be worn less than any other. Will be the most photographed and safe bound piece. (Like most to fair)

Stick to the classics they are the best to wear and own

when the Kermit appeared it was £500 over the regular Sub price and that was seen as profiteering

    When I looked around 4pm yesterday there were 2 @ £35k and 1 @ £45k. Later on all 3 were £45k.

The blue dial DD could offset this a little... or it could just enter a league of its own closer to PP...

Wasn’t the SD4K (116600?) available for less time? Have the prices of those significantly outperformed the general Rolex increase? Do they sell for that much more than a steel Sub Date?

The changes to the Sea-Dweller are pretty modest (even by watch forum standards), the SD4K was a genuine one off.

So lets consider what will be discontinued! These new models will start to arrive in Sept at best and as always Rolex will want to keep a trim catalogue rather than hold too many line items. The ‘After Eight’ will sit alongside the others as the only left handed piece and its inevitable the Coke will follow. The lowest hanging fruit for me has to be The Hulk & Batman to join the OP’s but we will see!

    Hulk ?

    Batman?

The Cellini models have all been discontinued except the moon phase, although I am sure nobody will actually notice it!

Good grief. Indeed, I had not noticed.

That's quite ruthless of them. Says something about sales of the Cellinis. A good way to transfer production capacity to more popular models, too.

Its highly unlikely they will keep all four colour versions of GMTIIC in the go. The After Eight will be the lefty option and the Pepsi has always been in the stable since 1954. Green is a statement Rolex colour whereas blue alone is not so one could assume. We may yet see a lefty green or regular sub or deepsea!

Personally I predict that whilst they like to innovate they will remain historic even in new models so pepsi and coke gmt remain. But who knows!

I believe the numbers are white gold. Despite this, the numbers tend to disappear in reality. I am not keen on the new Air King but do wish mine had the clasp of the new one.

For the GMT, might be a silly question but which way do you wind the crown? I am not keen on the LH but otherwise like the bezel. Much better than the blue/black in my opinion.

Will there be a hilarious rrp? I note the price of the steel Daytona is £11600. Cheapest one I've seen (used) £34k
