    Armchair Recommendations Please

Guys I’ve just had open inguinal hernia surgery. Also very bad lower back. My chairs and sofa are useless. Anyone able to suggest a decent armchair please? My days of sitting with my arse lower than knees are over!!!

    Watching.
I have had a 50-year love affair with Parker Knoll Norton recliners, but I am just coming to think that they may be a contributing factor in my skeletal decrepitude.

    Have a look at Stressless:

We really, really like ours and every person who has sat in it comments how comfortable it is. Although not the most expensive, they're also not cheap, took us a few years to justify the cost, but we're very glad we did.

Great Call. I had an accident about 10 years ago, went to hospital with a suspected broken neck but luckily only managed to have put my chin through my sternum but was in agony trying to sit or get out of anything. After about 3 days I bought one of the offer stresslesss for quick delivery and it was a godsend. Not cheap but certainly worth the OP going to try !!

I've really enjoyed my Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman [models 670/671] but that may be the fortunate match between my dimensions and that of the chair. Others don't find it quite as appealing. The elastomers provide some slight 'give' in the articulation between seat pan and back, but it's not at all floppy.

I think there are plenty of armchair experts here 😀

    Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Plus 1 for stressless recliners - can be picked up used quite easily, great design they last well and you can get a matching footstool and laptop holder for those lazy days on TZ

There are different sizes of armchair (there was when I got mine) like a ladies and a gents version.

A few more suggestions for you.

Modern like Stressless with better electric options

Here’s a selection at a big Norfolk based retailer.

These two British companies make more traditional style chairs and sofas which are probably more comfortable and supportive for those who are old enough to favour comfort over style.

I'm surprised there aren't more replies - there are more than a few armchair experts on here!

Thanks Guys. Looks like I’m going to be doing a bit of expensive shopping and trying to put some natural curve back into My back. Old age sucks
