Hype and scalpers will ruin these as well as the next hot property. And then sell on the second hand market for silly money.

They do look very cool in my opinion though.

Yes London and Edinburgh only UK locations confirmed on Swatch website, will be all over ebay the same day I suspect.

Hopefully not too limited a run so people do have a chance of picking one up.

¥33,550 here (all the info https://www.swatch.com/ja-jp/bioceramic-moonswatch.html) which is about £210 at today's rate, including tax. In store only too, the Swatch shops in Shibuya and Harajuku. These are the younger trendy shopping spots, and interestingly, not showing as available at Omega boutiques nor the giant Swatch Group store in Ginza (rich shopping area).

    Great move by Swatch group.

Interesting material and I imagine very hard wearing being made from BIOCERAMIC a blend of ceramic and bio-sourced plastic.

  31. #31

    https://www.swatch.com/en-us/bioceramic-moonswatch.html

I know nobody who lives in either capital city so can only hope they decide to stock them elsewhere when the froth dies down.

Really like the blue one but since I don't live anywhere near the stores chances of one are slim. As mentioned most will probably go to scalpers and end up on fleabay.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

Amazing looking watches in great colours. Myself and a friend are contemplating the 3:45h drive to Edinburgh on Saturday morning. There are a few very cool combination.

Ah that’s a shame, I have a 75 yard walk to one of the shops from my office. Might pop in to have a look next week.

I’m in London today and could easily swing by the Oxford St Swatch store just in case but if they are released on the 26th, that’s Saturday.

Trying to decide whether to get the moon or the mercury. Would prefer the original moonwatch look but the light grey coloured case looks a little plasticky, which seems less visible with dark grey from the live videos I've seen so far

With these I feel you need to embrace the plasticky.

I think they are funky, affordable and if you don't take them too seriously then what's not to like.
I'm actually in Edinburgh on saturday on my way up to Inverness but unfortunately the waiting time between train changes isn't long enough..

These are ridiculously tempting, for the same reason that I have a Lego Saturn V sitting around the flat - they just hit that ‘fun toy’ spot, regardless of age. There’s a chocolate box feeling about the choice of which one you like best too. The combination of the Omega logo, £200, the exciting new word ‘bioceramic’, and something that recognisably looks like a Speedy also has you grabbing your keys and heading to join the queue long before your brain catches up.

However… I do wonder exactly how a plastic watch is going to look on a grown man who’s on the far side of middle age. On someone younger, to accessorise an ironically over the top wardrobe when heading out for the night, or working on a laptop in that over-priced coffee shop, sure. It’s great not to take life too seriously, but I think I may have to admit that if I really wanted a Speedmaster, I should just buy the real one, or remember that I already had two of the automatics at one point. So perhaps I don’t really need a plastic one, as once I’d spent five minutes playing with it, I would never actually wear it. I guess Omega are hoping that’s the conclusion, anyway.

That sums it up for me.

I'm not averse to buying toys...last few toys I've bought have been retro consoles and a 7" scratch deck but I actually get (brief) use of them. I have a man-cave but don't display stuff other than prints on the wall. I know this would be a purchase that I would just stick in a drawer.

I need the Uranus! As a 55 year old man, I promise to wear the it without shame :)

I’m nowhere near a Swatch store, but I have emailed to see what is possible.

I would agree with you on this.

I like the idea of owning (& wearing) a few of these, but I highly doubt it would get any real wrist time once the initial couple of days of wearing ends.

I do like the Moon Swatch, the sub-dial layout makes the dial feel weird.

Until that point, it seemed like a bandwagon I could board, but the idea of having to traipse up to London to buy a cheap plastic watch - Just no...

I guess there are plenty of Londoners (and Edinburgh-ers) who will have to have one, but it'll need to wait until you can pick them up on the internet or in a high st jewelers before I consider one.

I suspect, too, that once you pick one up, you may feel £207 is a bit expensive! Whenever I've seen Swatch watches before, I've always felt they seemed overpriced.
