Another familiar face from my childhood now departed.
RIP "Richard DeVere"
Peter was great in many programmes I watched as a child.

Sad to hear that. Most will remember him for To The Manor Born I expect, but I'll remember him best for Running Late, a very original and slightly disturbing one-off that he did in 1991.
RIP Peter. My parents were huge fans of Manor Born. I enjoyed it also.
Very sad news, most will know him for Manor Born of course but he achieved so much else. Have to say Only when I Laugh was my favourite though. “I’m H A P P Y, I’m H………”. Loved it, great cast and simply good entertainment.
Sad to hear.

Used to appear in loads of stuff from the '60's on, Avengers etc and he was always memorable.
RIP Peter Bowles.
Cheers,
Neil.
What a shame - he lived very nearby; we used to see him around and share a friendly word now and again.
I was sad to hear this too. As others have said seemed to be in lots of things as I was growing up.
My parents always watched To the Manor Born and I recall “The Bounder” with George Cole
Cheers
Neil
I saw him only a few months ago collecting his morning newspaper. Top. Guy.
