Recommended Chinese & Italian restaurants Covent Garden area please

    As per the title…

Any recommended Chinese (or generally Oriental) & Italian restaurants around the Covent Garden area and environs please?

Nothing too swanky or hideously expensive thanks

    cheers

Chinatown is a 5 min walk from Covent Garden so I’d head over there for Chinese.

Try Com viet. Great Vietnamese food. I used to go there 2/3 times a week for lunch when my office was there. Looks small from upstairs but lots of room downstairs.

I know that but a recommendation for a good restaurant is better than a random choice. I’ve had some truly average meals in Chinatown.

Last year we went with friends in an Italian place called Zizzi, in that area. What I liked was the informal atmosphere, simple tasty food. There was also pizzas and similar being served, but none of us had any.

Do not know if the restaurant has survived Covid, another one that friends advised (Rosetta or Rosina) did not.

Bancone, Bocca di Lupo, Food House. Bancone is nearest of these to Covent Garden.

Sorry - off topic, but did anyone else think of Lee Ho Fook's when they saw this thread?

I saw a top Chinese recommendation on here somewhere which we tried in November, it was amazing.

Staff were super friendly and the sweet and sour pork on ice was unbelievable

Zizzi is a big chain and, as far as I know, still around.

    Cheers.

I was a bit of a regular in Giovanni's in Goodwin's Court when I worked around in the corner in the early 90s. They appear to be still going but it's probably been 30 years since I was last there - doesn't seem to have changed much.
