Kev (Kojak) on here used to do them for a modest fee, not sure if he’s still in the game.
I have a 'BFK' which is absolutely battered - a chuck out of the Hardlex, scratches on the case and (faded) bezel. It's head only and I only ever wear it on a Nato while mountain biking. If I crash (and it does happen) it should at least stay on my wrist and I doubt I can do any further physical damage. The problem is that it's now doing the 'two second tick' and refusing to build any real power reserve. The capacitor needs changing.
I don't want it servicing, I don't want it polishing or the crystal replaced.
I've done a quick search on the web and the capacitor doesn't look expensive on its own but I don't fancy my chances at replacing it myself. I've seen a couple of sites that will service the watch and replace the capacitor but they seem quite expensive (more than the watch is worth to me).
So... getting to the point... anyone know anywhere that will change the capacitor only for a reasonable price?
