Yep I really like that. The titanium versions is the one to go for but the black and blue dial is not to bad either.

Ooh! Wanted one of those when I saw the prototype. I even mentioned it to my AD although I guess that won’t count (a) as it wasn’t a production model then and (b) for the same reasons I’m not getting a Rolex!!

EDIT: Odd the strap/bracelet differential is so modest.

It's a beast, but what a good looking watch. Love that it's a no date.

Initial thoughts are I am not digging that!

Nice design, splash of colour, engineered and pure without a date but just something not quite right. Would like to wear one and will ponder longer to see if my initial reaction is right (It wasn’t with others)

I love it! When Omega release the 42mm version, I'll be first in the queue.

The date on the PO has always irked me - so the dateless Ultra Deep, especially with the funky "manta lugs" looks, to me, like a great evolution of the range.

The minute hashes are much better than the awful (imo) broken minute track on the latest Planet Ocean and Seamaster Pro. Like. I also like the fact there's no helium escape valve. High hopes for the next evolution of the Planet Ocean now.

Something about that green seamaster makes me think of Seiko.

All of today’s new launches are a bit of a miss for me. I think the most interesting is the thinner speedmaster 57,. The blue one is the pick of the bunch but there are more interesting speedmasters out there.

    The ATs are dreadful!

Not sure about it either, perhaps it's the bezel proportions that make it feel wrong.

    That is lovely 😊

So today Omega releases a ultra deep diver, a green dial version of its Dive Watch and multi-coloured dials on its GADA range.

Trying to wrack my brain to think from where they may have gotten the inspiration.....

I think that was the original Ultra Deep. These new ones are only 18mm deep :-)

I think that was the prototype. “ the new Ultra Deep, which is available in titanium or a brand-new steel alloy called "O-MEGASTEEL", measures 45.5mm wide and just 18.12mm thick.”

DSSD “ Its Oystersteel case measures in at 44mm wide and 17.7mm thick”

0.42mm is still a 0.42mm thickness difference - the ratio of width to thickness (2.57 for the omega / 2.48 for the Rolex) is perhaps nominal (no sniggering please)

Nice to see a no date, bracelet and clasp look good, but pricing is obscene.

Green Seamaster is the interesting one for me, but there will probably be a thread for that already.

Sorry, but its stupid. 200m WR is more than can possibly be required for any human...6000m is just pointless, and no doubt Omega will make you pay through the nose for a feature you couldn't possibly use.

I must admit I'm getting over the entire WIS thing.......

Ah, the old chestnut of need vs want. We only need 'fire' to keep warm and cook food, but homo sapiens has somewhat progressed!

I think the Ti version looks O-Mega!

    I prefer the Deepsea still.
I find the bezel a bit overbearing of the dial ultra deep.

That said, they're aiming at the Cameron with the blue version at *exactly* 1k below the DSSD RRP.

I like the case shape on these and some of the dial colours are appealing but the price is eye-watering and the size is way too chunky for my wrist. As mentioned, the green 300M looks the nicest of the new releases (although a bit predictable).

  32. #32

    Omega Ultra Deep 6000m

Look great and if you could pull it off, why not! The engineering is impressive but I think anyone with an average wrist size would soon tire of it, weekend watch I think.

Edit, would take one over the new AT any day!

    Yes indeed

And diameter, and thickness. Technically interesting, but beyond that I don’t have any interest.

I thought ultra deep was referring to the case thickness! 14 years to create something less wearable than my beloved DSSD. To be honest it looks like omega looked to rolex for inspiration for a lot of their new releases : green seamaster, coloured dials for globemaster....

    Omega Ultra Deep 6000m

    Nope

EDIT: just had a look through the other ‘Novelties’. Coloured dials, wow

I love the brand but these are just lazy IMO.

Love over engineering. Although, to be fair, every watch I have is over engineered for my use, lol.

I love it, especially the White dial Blue bezel model, hopefully one of the high rollers on here will buy one then sell it after they get bored in a few months and I can pick it up for around 7k, as much as I like it I certainly couldn’t bring myself to pay that retail price.

I like it, the white dial would be my choice based on the pictures. One I’ll definitely try if I can get a good enough discount at some point in the future.

At £10k RRP you'll be able to get it BNIB for £7.5k or so after a few months from one of the members here who acts as a broker and has helped me on a couple of watches recently.

I think you’re bang on, that bezel actually makes the dial look small and out of proportion!

Omega have managed to produce a watch that makes the Seadweller Deepsea look well proportioned. And did anyone really think a 600m rated Planet Ocean wasn't quite enough?
