Brilliant idea, let us, as many as possible, show our support for Ukraina.
Their efforts are really admirable !
    God bless them all

I would like to support but my company has agreed to match any employee donations and so I will support that request as it doubles my amount and I will join Raffe’s raffle.

Thoughts are best hopes are with you and your family.

We're somewhere around the £4,000 mark now - with £700 having been sent over. Amazing - thank you!

Right now as I type this 9 young children are being moved to a safe location by a paramilitary unit - we are covering their fuel and food.

Got several other channels ongoing for food and essential supplies to kids. My original plan at the weekend of sourcing outdoor supplies for the military/volunteers is proving difficult as all non-food shops are now closed, even pharmacies.

Fantastic, I am proud to be part of this.

FYI, David has sent me screenshots again and the money has been picked up in Ukraine already. This is going to good use without any delays.

    Been busy here...

Various orphanages, children's hospitals and kindergartens (believe it or not some are still operating) are now being approached to receive food and essential supplies

Although non-food shops remain closed it looks like useful items are indeed available via some, ahem, well-connected associates

Volunteer groups fabricating and erecting defensive road barriers are being fed and fuelled

  16. #66
Great initiative in setting this up and keeping it running. What a bloody awful situation. Donation made.

Somewhere around 100 of you now donated - an amazing response, thank you TZ-UK

Be assured the money continues to go directly into Ukraine, I'm doing it in small batches spread out to maximise both the area covered and how long we can assist as who knows how long this situation will continue for. Still focussing on getting food and essentials to kids, the elderly and hospitals.

In addition, my son's school has arranged (with assistance from the Polish Consul General in Edinburgh) for a supply truck to go over later this week, I'll put some funds towards this too. We're putting together handout boxes of food that will feed a family of four for a week, and handout boxes of baby/infant supplies such as nappies, milk powder, food pots and suchlike.

Let's bump this up - I'll be listing some goodies for Brompton bikes later and will pass all proceeds to David.

    Friday night bump.

Little story of what we got going on - today my missus randomly bumped into one of her Ukrainian associates, in conversation the lady mentioned her elderly mother in the outskirts of Kyiv was struggling as the local supermarket shelves were empty. One message to our contact there and within the hour she had shopping delivered to her door.

Generosity and technology working in tandem

How is the band behind the Kyiv Calling Track monetising their work? Do you know if they are supporting a specific region, resource or cause?

Sorry but I have no knowledge of the background; unknown whether it's a jingle to raise awareness or indeed is raising funds.

    UPDATE

Still getting funds sent via a handful of contacts - it's getting harder though as many associates are now displaced in Ukraine or have fled to the EU.

Getting plenty of food and essentials delivered in a couple major cities - but getting stuff directly into the worst hit areas like Mariupol unfortunately isn't possible for multiple reasons.

TZ-UK generosity on this has been 20x what I was expecting so I think we've done more than enough - let me get a tally done and will look at ending this appeal in a few days as I need to get back to work!

With that in mind a few of you are still sending repeat donations - please check with me first by PM before sending anything further.

    Thank you all once again!
