My trusty Regatta fleece with a windproof lining is literally, and I mean literally, falling apart at the seams. I'm struggling to find a replacement, any pointers or recommendations to a replacement please.
I'm not after a windproof outer with a fleece lining, I like what I've currently got and am looking for a replacement.
And much as I'd like an MX-5 it's not a top priority at the moment.

Just as a general coat really. Walks in countryside and on the beach, shopping trips, hanging the washing out...
Look at golf jumpers, they are generally windproof and not all of them will make you look like Rupert Bear.

I suppose it depends on whether you want to keep warm or look fashionable. For dog walking on cold days this works. If it's p'ing down something more waterproof is required.

It uses Polartec fleece so it’s been great at keeping the heat in on dog walks and keeps most of the wind out

I have fleeces that I wear for one purpose that I wouldn't wear for others. Which is presumably why there are so many different ones on the market.

I'm not sure why any manufacturer would put the windproof layer under the insulation layer other than for fashion reasons??
Rab ordered, tried on and packed for return. Fine in the body and sleeve but far too tight in the neck and under the arm pits. A shame as a nice bit of kit.
Have you considered Buffalo? Great company with lots of flexible options for normal sized people.
They make tops for military so some grey performance materials.
Nearly all golf apparal manufacturers do this, I have an lovely thick wool winter jumper with a wimdproof lining, it is great.
Not a expert by any means, but had a few softshells in my time. I found the 'membrane' lined one’s way back when more versatile eg. Goretex Windstopper etc but more and more manufacturers seem to be moving towards unlined softshells now for increased breathability.
Personally I like the North Face (Apex Bionic?) but there's a whole myriad. Arcteryx seem to be the mutt's dangles, but there's a whole lot of choice depending on what suits your needs.
