    New NATO from WatchGecko

Quite like the look of these new Ridge Natos from WatchGecko. Anyone tried them yet?

    Agree those do look nice.

Notice CWC are now also offering a single pass strap in a similar style, though limited to 20mm.

Another nice option. I had been looking for a Seiko Seichu Nato but this type of strap seems to be a good and less expensive alternative (granted they may not be as premium as the Seiko nato but do have a similar look).

I bought a couple of similar straps from cheapestnatostraps last week
I would hope WG or CWC are better quality than the ones I bought, they are so stiff they are un wearable.
I will put them in the washing machine to see if they soften up but they went straight in to the strap box and not on a watch.

Should be noted the CWC is £14 cheaper.

I know which one I’ll be trying out.

What’s the advantage of these ridged straps over a regular NATO? Are they meant to be more comfortable, or is it just the latest new look/trend?

Agree with the stiffness.Tried the washing machine softening technique - didn't make much difference and lost a lot of the colour.Looking for the same style of strap but softer material.

    Why is that?

I think the demographic wearing them has expanded a bit since 1973

Maybe a take on the original 6B/2617 from1954? Often seen on the Smiths GS 6B/346 of the same date. The company that remade the AF0210 have also remade the 6B/2617.

This is the one I'd go for but the CWC ones look great for a tenner each. Good colours too.

Interesting, thanks for the link. I assumed they were following on from the latest Seiko fancy Japanese-weave nato's that were released last year. I do admit that I find the look quite nice, and the 'ribs' make them look more padded than your bog-standard nato, although not sure if that actually rings true in reality!

The CWC ones look good though for the price and colourways.
