I’ve found some 18mm perlon’s have a wider weave that is closer to 19mm. Like this one:

Although CWC state that the GS Sapphire has an 18mm lug width, my piece measures 19mm. Hmmm…
Wouldn’t have though that a millimetre here or there would make much difference, but am finding that (to my eyes) it does. 18mm strap looks too narrow, 20mm strap looks too wide. Of course, nobody else is going to notice.
I was hoping to obtain a black 19mm Perlon strap from Eulit, but they do not list one. Dr. Google has not come up with any alternatives.
Would anyone please be able to point me in the direction of a nice black 19mm Perlon strap?
Any help most gratefully received.
Cheers!
Gavin.

20mm strap & curved springbars is one solution.
That looks perfect.
It was your appreciation of Fatboy-80 that got me looking at the GS. Yes, I know the GS is not a Fatboy, but I struggle with scratches on acrylic. Oh, and thank you for the encouragement to try the Polywatch, it is good stuff.
Anyhow, I am liking the GS, but am currently challenged by lack of strap options. The photos don't really show, but whilst both 18mm and 20mm straps fit, the proportions aren't entirely pleasing.
Will keep an eye out for 'a wider than specified' Perlon. 19mm NATO is easier to source, so will be on the way ASAP.
Cheers!

Looks good in the black. Got to be honest, I’m tempted to get the GS version in stainless steel, as a holiday/travel watch to go with my Fatboy reissue and call it a day with watches. Lunacy…
PM incoming ref Perlon.
I find the 19mm ribbed Cheapest NATO Straps work really well to, although I have once converted mine to a single pass:
Many thanks to you both for your replies.
Yes, fixed bars on the GS, so curved spring bars not an option. However, a good idea that I'll bear in mind in the future.
Cheers!
I have always used 20mm perlons for 19mm solid lugs. Try different makes and types of perlon as they don't all behave the same in terms of rigidity, stretch, etc. One good thing is that they are cheap.
THIN is the new BLACK
Many thanks to you all for the helpful replies
eBay FTW!

Just for completeness, the eBay Perlon strap is fine. The only downer for me is the buckle. For one thing, it is shiny bare metal. For another, it is a little insubstantial compared to the Eulit buckle.
One £2.95 PVD buckle from Watch Obsession later, and we're sorted.

Thank you
I ordered a 19mm NATO at the same time, and that has now taken up residence. Oh well, the Perlon wouldhave been getting ready for a wash...
Just for the record, I'm really liking this GS. Has a nice stealthy, low profile look. Not a military watch, but its martial ancestry shows. The second hand is hitting the markers. At +1s/wk, it is within tolerance and good enough for me.
Once again, thank you all for the replies!
Best wishes,
Gavin.

I have recently picked up a CWC Mellor and encountered difficulty in finding suitable 19mm straps. I have ordered a 19mm Chevron strap from Crown & Buckle which hopefully should look the part.
Splendid! It would be nice to see a photograph please once it has arrived. The Mellor is such a lovely watch 😊
The Chevron strap has arrived.
At its price point of £26 I did not feel particularly wowed by it. Looks much better on the C&B website. May be I had overly high expectations.
I have a really slim wrist and the strap and just about fits under both keepers.
I may be tempted to buy more Chevron straps if there was a better deal but I think I will stick with CWC natos.
I will get some photos up in daylight.
