    Ozark (absolutely NO spoilers please)

Season 4 of Ozark has just started on Netflix (if you know, you know ).

14 episodes split into 2 x 7, and the final season.

We have been holding on for this for ages, just brilliant! It’s rare we find something that myself and mrs Macca love equally, this is one of them

One episode left for me. The little boy woke up 10 mins into the last and I knew it would take some time getting him back down. So I'll finish it tonight!

    Last season I believe.

Split into two lots of seven, so you're not finished yet (unless they've now added the final seven)!

    Random fact

During lockdown - Danny Bensi who composes the music for Ozark, gave our then 15 yr old daughter, zoom mentoring re composing and a career in Music

Via a friend of a friend and at a really tough time for the kids, it was hugely appreciated

She’s just won a prize for best score in a short film at a film festival, and is about to release an EP on Spotify

I did think that it was going to be a busy last episode if this was the last!

It is such a good series.

Don't understand that - nothing whatsoever like Lost in that respect, and a very tightly worked storyline throughout.

Ozark and Lost..uhm poles apart surely.

I think you´ll enjoy it blackal.

We haven´t managed to get started on the final season yet...might rewatch the final explosive episode of season 3 first, re establish the mood.

Great show! Watching S4 E3 at the moment.

Speaking of shows that start well and turn into Lost, I had that exact same thought the other day with Servant.

We love Ozark, Ruth is just brilliant!

My father in law was looking forward to it and when we said its now on Netflix he binge watched all 7! Such a good story line with Marty fire fighting problem after problem..

On Ep2, and sense I might have actually started watching Ep1 before - some time ago.............

    Cheers.

I read somewhere that this last series was supposed to be 2 according to Jason Bateman but the powers that be at Netflix made them condense it to 1 so was bound to be a good one with that much going on

I watched the first two series (excellent) but haven't returned yet as just don't have/don't make the time to dedicate to watching it.

I binge this series every time it's released. Absolutely love it - it has just the right amount of everything for me (suspense, emotion, action etc.). Now the wait for part 2.

Watched first one of series four last night, forgot how good it is. Could have done with a recap, but I think I'm back up to speed now!

Just started ep 1 of S4 today, after watching last ep of S3 last night. For those who have yet to start, and tend to forget details of a show due to bingeing it like I di, recaps of previous seasons on YouTube are usually excellent. Netflix has official recaps for Ozark seasons 1 + 2, and there are unofficial recaps of season 3 available. Plus there is this recap of the whole lot (the guy is a wee bit annoying)!

Finished, and... bloody hell - that was extraordinarily good.

Oh, and Julia Garner (Ruth) was absolutely incredible.

Hey - Nothing ventured...................... No hardship, and if you don't try...................

I've bought DVD box-sets on recommendation before, but only after conversation where a common liking exists.

I'm more a DEXTER / JUSTIFIED / THE SHIELD / BOSCH type of viewer.

Very entertaining, if not somewhat getting too over the top.

I think she's a very underrated actress. She's been fantastic from start to finish.

Yes, Julia Garner is a great actress and very versatile. While back saw her in a series of The Americans, where she played the daughter of a politician, that Matthew Rhys' character was trying to manipulate.

I've just finished the first part of Season 4 and in my view it's not as good as Seasons 1 to 3. There are too may contrived plot twists that don't seem 'real' or make true sense. I've never questioned the plot and the story in previous Seasons. This is the first time I've thought that certain parts of the plot aren't logical, even within the confines of the 'World' that has been created.

I'll still watch it all of course and I'm keen to find out what happens next, but they've tried to do too much maybe and made the story lose some of its magic.

I will definitely be checking out the new series 'Inventing Anna' where she plays Anne Delvey.

    Finished the new series.

Still watchable, better than last season?

The only criticism I'd level is that it lacks humour. The score, the cinematography etc is all based on melancholy. I can't stand this trend.
The fact you can't root for any of the characters has to be handled deftly. I'm not sure they've done a great job on that front.

I think the Sopranos did it best. Full of anti heroes and clowns.

  44. #44
I watched series one seemingly years ago, and gave up. Unlikeable characters, preposterous plotting, and… Laura Linney. An actress who brightens any scene just by leaving it.

On the basis of this thread, I decided to give it another shot. Just finished series two. It wants to be, but isn’t, Breaking Bad. But what is? Well, Better Call Saul. But I've finished that.

So onwards to series three and I suspect I will now see it through to the end. Without caring how it ends, nor how it gets there. I think I'm just watching it for Julia Garner and Charlie Tahan.

I think Ozark is great. Well written, and I like the dark edgy feel to the filming too.

Enjoyed it, but the recap was possibly not quite enough to get me back up to speed. I probably could have gone back and watched the last few of Season 3 again. Obviously you do remember the big ending of S3, but I had forgotten about Ben the brother.

So, I can't decide. Is she good looking, a guilty pleasure, or do I just like rednecks :O ??
