Well, now that the hangovers have subsided I think it is safe for some brightly coloured squiggly lines. We haven't seen many charts recently so here is a large helping of them (sadly no pies or doughnuts).
Lets start looking at the year in general, below we have the count for the monthly top ten brands:

To give the above results a little perspective and allow us to see any trends a little more clearly I have averaged the monthly results over the weeks in each month. I have also added the total weekly average for each month on the secondary y-axis to see how they all compare:

Interesting to see the steady decline of Seiko from April through to September before picking up again and also Rolex tailing off in December while all the others pick up.
And now for a pair of headache inducing charts. The numbers for the weekly top ten brands. To try and keep them from being totally unreadable I have split date into two charts, one for each half of the year.

April the Second really stands out, numbers plummet steeply, particularly for Omega but despite only recording five examples, a score that would usually put them to the bottom half of the top ten, they still held on to the third spot. I am not sure what we were doing that day but it looks like many of us were busy.
And just to show how 2021 compares to 2020 I have created this chart showing the annual weekly average of each year and the monthly weekly average:

And finally the Bit on The Side. Last year I decided, not only to count the watches but also study which styles we preferred. I started out with nine different styles but, as the year approached its half way point I began to think of what the BoTS for the following year should be. The first option that came to my mind was complication. I started thinking too hard about this and I became a bit befuddled and decided to stop counting chronographs, ana-digi and digi as they could be described as complications rather than styles. I now regret making that decision because I was stupid to be thinking too hard about it and because it messes up the integrity of the numbers. However my regret was not strong enough to make undertake the painful task of going through the count again. So here is the result of all of that additional recording, each style shown in terms of a percentage of the monthly total.
After I had stopped counting chronographs as an independent category they mainly went to "Other Tool" although the military style ones went to "Military". Most digital watches went to "Other Tool" as they were mainly G-Shocks. others probably just went to "Other".

Unsurprisingly we like tool watches in general and dive watches in particular. The struggle between military and dress watches kept me entertained (I think I need to get out more).
Please vote in the poll to determine whether dial colour or complication will be this year's BoTS (I am getting the impression that I shouldn't have made it binary). It will close in a couple of days to give me time to modify the spreadsheet.
Well, that is last year wrapped up, I'd better make a start on this year.
