Thanks for letting us know. For a minute then, I was in danger of liking that one. I am indeed grateful for your unquestionable wisdom.

    LOL

I have a thing for gold watches so I have to say that that one appeals to me. But less so the price.

I know it's insane and I'm not even that much of a fan of a Nautilus but I *really like* the Tiffany blue...

Nr. 10 (PP Ref. 2497) looks most appealing to me. Why you would pay CHF 3 million + for a Speedmaster with a degraded dial is beyond me, but I'll assume some of my watch decisions would seem equally far from logical and sensible to others. Huge discrepancies between the estimates and the actual winning bids. Estimates are probably kept low to rope in as many interested parties as possible, but it does seem like the watch game is just spinning further and further out of control.

I quite like the Nautilus but like you am a big fan of that version, but just a few million short of the RRP!

What is clear is that the appraiser had no clue how to value them !

Each of those estimates was absolutely intentional.

Take it off the bracelet and put it on a nice strap (black or No. 8 shell cordovan would be my choice, there are tons of good options) and it would be gorgeous. Too bad it will probably end up back in a safe.

Looking over the rest of the list, those are all beautiful watches (except the Tiffany Nautilus). I don't really like the two F.P. Journe models, but I do appreciate them.

I don't get tropical dials either, but I do like speedmasters so I won't comment on that one.

Yes, this is the sad thing in my opinion.

The only one that actually appeals is the (birth year for me) Speedmaster at No.9. If it was mine I would have no hesitation wearing it. The closest I ever got was a 1962, 2998 Speedy, which I sold.

You can keep the Patek Philippe's and FPJ's
For me, and in a heartbeat, would be either of the amazing Philiipe Dufour timepieces.
IMO, one of the all time best Master Watchmakers.
