Absolutely horrendous. Probably the worst score on here for a long time. It went badly wrong from the start. Just goes to show!

You may well be starting with similar words to me. That is clearly the random element in the game - sometimes they work brilliantly, other times it’s the opposite.
Like you, it just didn’t click this morning at all. Add to that one or two errors or just unlucky guessed and the wheels quickly come off.
I do think this is key to the longevity of the appeal though. If a player got to the standard where they could consistently beat it with a great score every time it would soon become very dull.
^^^ I started with RIOTS, not the smartest first word from a statistical pov though I occasionally use it. May get binned now, though.
Agree ref the random results, you just never know how you're going to get on which certainly adds a degree of frisson to the challenge!
Thought I'd face a sequence game, started with RIOTS again though gawd knows why. Three letters in the right place on the 3rd attempt yet soooo many possibilities beyond that. You can't pull it back after seven stabs on word one.

It was really tough to get a decent score today. My games tend to be epics - I'll often start in the morning ticking off a couple of words and finish off later over the course of the evening, leaving the tab open and picking off the odd word between other activities. When there are too many options across all of the unfinished columns I'll usually use a turn to eliminate a bunch of letters rather than guess repeatedly. There was one word today that was very obscure and achieved only by finding all of the letters in the correct locations in other words.
