There appears to be a few Wordle apps/games, am I correct in thinking that this version allows you to type in any random 5 letters even if they don't form a proper word? Or am I being dumb?Originally Posted by Mr Curta

The Android app game I use won't allow improper words to be submitted, not only that but it also looks different to many of the screen shots shown. My GF's Apple app doesn't look like mine and has different words of the day so we also can't compete!
Wordle will give you a 'not in word list' message if you try to submit random letters - needs to be a recognised word.
Which is what happens with the Android app I use (pictured below) however what I've quoted above appears to have/allow random letters.

I got them from the Covid threadWell, even Merriam-Webster doesn't have vozhd. And Collins don't have glent.

Another 5 today - like yesterday, got 3 right after 3, then it was just a process of elimination.
I got letters 2, 3, 5 by row 3, and that left at least 5 possible words, so I needed a bit of luck.
Somehow a 2 after only having the middle letter in the right place after guess 1. Lucky guess on the second.
My first three, woohoo!
Did get a bit lucky with the first word though.

We used the same first word, but that left still 10+ possibilities. I wasted one on guessing, but then closed with method. Ended with five, which looks like a lot given three greens in row one, but if I had kept guessing might as well not been able to solve it at all.

Surprised that there were 10+ possibilities - you realise that Wordle uses a subset of their dictionary for the solution words (using only more common ones)?
I could only see 2 obvious words (though may be a few more) and guessed correctly.
Yea I had the same issue and was why I failed when the word was 'light'. Much more strategic now which you have to be....
I just sent you 13 common words that would have all worked after the first row.
