Thread: Tudor fabric strap -- length?

    Tudor fabric strap -- length?

    Hi All

Anyone know the max. length of the Tudor fabric strap when fully adjusted?

I have c.20cm wrists and am wondering whether it'll come up too short.

    Thanks

I think they may do a long version?
The standard one is pretty short, I always thought.
My wrist is about 17/18cm and my couple of black bays, when on the fabric strap, only had one or 2 holes left

I’ve never seen a Tudor fabric strap long enough
It's just a matter of time...

Is it the nato type strap you’re looking at Olly?

I have one you can try for size, very local
    if you remember.

That's what I'm thinking (or at least telling myself!). Thanks chaps you might have just saved me some money.

Thanks Steve. I was thinking of the one-piece BB58 strap as I think it's the only one they do at 20mm. I really like the backstory and the design (built-in "tunnels" for the springbars.). All the reviews have been good but length has been mentioned as an issue. Holes seem to be placed from 18 - 21cm and with ~20cm wrists I'm not not sure that leaves much leeway. Anyway, I can't really justify spending that kind of money on a strip of fabric, even if it is woven by fairies on magic looms from unicorn hair. They do look great though. If they were another 5cm and half the price I'd be all over it.

Pics of a BB36 19mm and BB Bronze 23mm for length. They are short.

Other Tudor style NATO's that match very well are available.

Thanks, much appreciated. Are they as good as the price suggests? There’s a used one on eBay for £170 that I keep going back to but that’s as much as a good new bracelet.

Ollie, I have a 19cm wrist and the BB58 925 Tudor strap is on the next to last hole for me and that is quite tight. I don't think they would work on a 20cm wrist tbh. Very comfortable strap though, the material is lovely and supple.

The quality is excellent - not much difference between the unused spare blue BB Bronze strap and the well used one.

You can also eke out an extra 1cm to 2cm+ by taking out a springbar, moving the anchoring springbar or turning the strap upside down and putting the springbar through next to the keeper.

    Thanks nmbnmb & Mark

Just measured my wrist and it’s actually 7.5” / 19mm — same as Mark but my feet 10.5 / 45 not “ size11s” so I guess that’s where the similarity ends!

I’m stilling humming and hawing about the strap. It’s a hell of a lot of money for 20-odd centimetres of . . . what? Fabric tape? Ribbon? Webbing?

Price per square inch is alarming!

    Thanks again

    Ollie
