A rare outing for the Allenby Firebird. Not sure on the year (some may say its from the decade which taste forgot) but oddly on the side it says 'Made in France', surely given its Gallic roots this should be 'Fabrique en France' instead.

However it's a lovely old thing which needs to be worn more.

    Stay safe friends.

I misread it as ‘giggle’ and then spent a minute studying the markings on the watch - for the joke!!!

Yes, it’s a ZuluDiver Lunar. They’ve been on offer for a while and might still be. (I bought 3)!

Can I ask what strap this is on?

Indeed it is. There is a similar watch from San Martin which they sell with a Sellita movement which is cheaper. But I opted for this one.

Most of the collections from this period are long forgotten, except for one: the Point series—generally referred to as the “Dot” series among collectors.
With the Point series, Monnier sought to create a tiered system of technical watches, with a specific focus on divers and chronographs.
The three tiers were Red, Gold, and Silver. The distinction between the three tiers is somewhat unclear.
Some believe it to be one of quality, with differentiating factors being things like the type of crystal (e.g. acrylic vs. sapphire), band, and movement finishing.

Got this as a stocking filler at Christmas and I love it. I try not to think about the fact it's all the watch I could ever need and is available new for less than Ł20!
