I took a watch in trade that I’ve always wanted to try last year. Alas, it is slightly too small and I’m moving it on as part of my consolidation quest.
Whilst checking it over prior to selling I’ve noticed an oddity on the 6 o’clock lume. Does this look like something that would happen with tritium? (appreciate the photos aren’t great)
‘Normal’ 3 o’clock plot:
6 o’clock plot with mis shapen top.
Can’t see why trituim would be relumed? All plots behave like trituim, ie no after glow after a blast under the uv torch.
Appreciate any help.

It’s unlikely the watch has been re lumed in tritium, I would have thought it came off the production line that way.
Most re liners take the old lume off first before re applying. So it’s a manufacturer defect that was missed on the QC process - far from uncommon
I can't the question specifically but I have noticed that older watches with tritium lume (or what I presume is likely to be tritium lume) often seem to me to have slightly 'puffy', kind of puffed up/expanded, lume.

Thanks, that was my initial thoughts as it seems like a good example. I’ll list it here and see what happens.
It is also not central between the markers either side, which suggests it's a QC issue.
If it were a Rolex it would triple the value...
