    What’s that film…

I’m trying to remember the name of two films I saw years ago but for the life of me can’t…

In The first one a drunk guy knocks down a man and does a runner after calling an ambulance.
But as he’s bent down to help the casualty he drops one of his business cards at the scene.

In the second a lawyer defends a white rich kid who has beaten a black waiter (to death?)

I’ve tried searching in name that movie search sites but no joy.
Thought I’d try the collective viewing knowledge of our TZ gang

Yep, that’s the one. Thank you.
Might have helped if I’d remembered Samuel Jackson was in it.

All afternoon I’ve been trying to figure it out.
    You sir, are a gentleman…
And obviously a font of film knowledge.

Far from it! My knowledge of film is very poor as I rarely watch them but you gave enough information for me to search and refine.

You obviously looked far better than I did,
    Thanks Alan.

    Rewatched both.
    Unreasonable Doubt is still watchable
But I’m not sure Shaft has aged well,
Actually I don’t think it was any good in the first place.

I only saw it at the cinema, so ages ago, but I thought Bale was excellent as the little shit who kills the waiter, and Jeffrey Wright (who went on to be Bernard in Westworld) was pretty good as the psycho drug guy.
