Help removing a Seiko cyclops please

Pic of the offending barnacle below. I've seen YT vids of heating them and lifting with a sharp blade. Anyone actually done this? Does it work? Can I achieve it without leaving a scratch or marks on the crystal?

    TIA.

I’ve done a few of these (on citizens)
My methods been to place the watch in a holder then in a vice, tape up the watch and face just exposing the Cyclopes- apply a small amount of acetone on a cocktail stick (carefully as obviously gaskets don’t like it) around the edge of the cyclops
And I think the last one I just tapped a glancing blow very gently with a small chisel and pin hammer - I’ve also done it with pin hammer and Stanley blade
    Then just clean it up
    Good luck - balls out
    I’d remove the bezel 1st
Careful you won’t mark the crystal

Removed a few using a heat gun and scalpel very carefully. Worked a treat👍

    Subscribed for updates.

Why has Seiko started adding a cyclops to several models? The watches look better without a barnacle on the crystal (who likes a cyclops?).

The once I did it was on a pulsar with a small butane torch. It took literally a second or two.

It fell off before I could pick up the scalpel.

A better quality watch might be a bit tougher though it needs to be tried on that watch imho

Since turning 50 I’d never remove a cyclops tbh - they’re actually useful!

    not even that fancy.

It’s a bic lighter in a torch handle

I’ve done this a few time, a jet lighter and acetone to clean up any residue always does the trick.

I've done a couple with a soldering iron. Focused heat is good. Works a treat.

I tried remove with heat and stanley blade but only it started to chip bit by bit.
Do you know where to buy this kind of candy cyclop only? I would like to put it back on.
