what country does it show you IP address is in?
Over the last few days when visiting various sites I’m getting a pop up saying that I’m on the Uk site but the site thinks I’m USA based and asks if want to switch sites to my local one. Sometimes when googling for something specific it automatically sends me to the USA site.
Why is this suddenly happening.
Nothing has changed my end, I use standard BT broadband and dont use a VPN.
Cheers,

Check your IP as Martyn suggests.
You might have a VPN on or proxy.
Thanks guys, just checked that and it’s showing as UK so seems to be ok.

Has anything changed under settings - general - language - region?
You may have some cookies that somehow tracked you as coming from US. Try clearing your cookies (and browser history) and restart your machine. Does that fix the problem?
ref how to do it:

On iOS (15) go to settings>your name>iCloud.
Check to see if you have Private Relay switched on.
Private Relay is Apple’s attempt to hide your IP address when you are browsing, via a kind of VPN like set up which is generally a good thing.
However, they are a a bit vague about where the servers are, so your browsing may be being bounced via the US.
I’ve had the same thing, I do have private relay on. If you want to leave it on closing the browser and trying again usually fixes it.
