I somehow missed this thread, it was an interesting read thanks. 1984 must have been a good year for Datejusts, that’s when I bought mine from Northern Goldsmiths in Newcastle. After wearing it for 20+ years 24/7, including my work as a Firefighter, I found this forum while looking for advice on buying a watch to wear in it’s stead for work as with it’s value going up I decided I was tempting fate with the chance of losing or damaging it. It’s my most accurate watch with a gain inside 1 sec per 24hrs.

Nice one - I've always quite liked the old engine-turned bezels.
My dad has the sapphire reference just like that. It was his only watch for years.
Its always the TT I think of first when someone says Datejust.
