Rolex price rise - Jan 2022

This is doing the rounds (Rolex forum, instagram, Etc). Of course at this stage it’s all sourced “from a contact” but seems that hot SS models (Daytona, GMTs, Sub) up c10%, most others around 3% and some not changed at all.

    Has anybody else heard this?

Doubt will be enough to dampen demand and will probably see a corresponding increase in Grey market pricing.

I saw Paul Thorpe's video this morning. 4% across the board he said.

So 4% accross the board on everything you cannot buy?

    Top idea.

The 10% was quoted for the German, not Uk market pricing Michael.

My own understanding is 3.5% for the UK.

Correct, but also hearing similar for the UK Gareth. £1k increase for a Pepsi, but a nominal £150 for a DD. Who knows if true however, I’m sure we will see soon enough.

It seems completely irrelevant. Who cares about 4% when people will suck someone else off to be able to get stuff at just 50% over list?

Not correct for the Uk market. It’s 3.5%, and not anywhere near 10%.

I guess if you were planning on making the jump on anything from the pre owned market now is the time. As they will innevitably go up too until supply issues are sorted

  9. #9
Given RPI is currently 7.1%, this could be seen as a price cut.

  10. #10
I predict 27% and you’ll need to buy at least three Camels before being allowed to purchase a SS model.

  11. #11
Would seem reasonable increase, but actually getting a steel sports model at RRP is difficult as it is.

Bit like someone telling me that the price of a ferrari or bbeluga caviar is going up. I would do the classic "alan partridge shrug of the shoulders".
Something i probably cant get or afford any time soon

Like I said, we will see soon enough…but 3.5% hardly seems worth it?!

This is a good point tbf. It seems like a Rolex (at RRP) has never been so attainable financially (ironic given the almost complete unavailability of most models)

I suspect thats a wise move.
With the inflationary pressures arising next year, people will be more interested in their gas bill than what the time is on their swanky watch !

    Two points.

Rolex could easily get away with applying a 10% increase and the demand would still be there.

If you don't want to buy a Rolex, why worry about it.

They could! I don’t really understand point 2 though, who is worried?

He hasn't got a clue either.

No one knows what Rolex are going to do until they do it.
All the youtubers are just whores for views likes and subs for their channel.
None of them have any more clue than any one else.

I agree, all these people who have an AD mate/contact/lover think they have inside knowledge on Rolex themselves- no!!

And yes, YouTubers are simply about views and subs so will use whatever they can to generate that income..

Maybe 10% on the coveted SS models. But I very much doubt that wrt all the myriad of other watch variants they produce and sell to people who are not necessarily members of TZ

Which couldn't they get away with 10% on?

On the Rolexforums, they are suggesting that most watches will increase between 2.6% and 4.1%, e.g. Oyster Perpetual PM Sports and Datejusts.

But on the sort after Steel Sports, the increase will be between 9.7% and 11.8%. Including the Explorer (11.8% increase), Air King (11.7% increase), Sub Date (9.9% increase) and GMT (11.4% increase).

Not confirmed yet. From Rolex point of view, it would make sense to apply bigger increases on the more in demand watches.

The price rise stories are coming from various “sources” and countries…UK, Germany and the USA…so although not direct from the horse’s mouth there must be some truth in the numbers, or just a coincidence that these are all coming out at exactly the same time. Like I said earlier though we won’t have to wait long until we see the true picture.

My pleasure although I don't want loads of requests for prices before Christmas - it's still busy here!! 🤪 (Luckily we sell beautiful jewellery so not reliant on watches!!!)

Many thanks for letting us know, much appreciated.

Out of interest I always thought Rolex updated prices after close of business the night before (so say 31st December for a 1st January increase), how come they’ve let people know nearly two weeks ahead?

What’s gold watches in general going up by? Daytonas, subs, GMT’s etc.

Edit just seen you’re above post and that you’re still busy so don’t worry about replying. Thanks again for the heads up anyway :-)

3.4% on the yellow gold Sub with blue dial according to the prices listed vs the Rolex uk site today.

Looks like the typical scalped models are going up by the biggest margin.

Oh right, £30,350/£29,650 = 2.4% so I thought you were referring to a different new price.

Got to give the grey dealers time to reprice all their stock.

As far as I am concerned the only people who know are God,Rolex and HM.
And none of them is going to talk.
So let us wait till Jan 1.

God hasn’t posted yet, but I for my part endorsed Oracle’s post.

    Servicing costs will follow.

Expect north of £700 to service a simple 3 hander.

The Rolex board must sit in a room going "what can we get away with next"
