    The Ashes (spoilerish)

    Off to a "great" start.

    WICKET! Burns b Starc 0, England 0-1

A WICKET WITH THE FIRST BALL OF THE ASHES!

Bowled around his legs! Extraordinary. Starc bowls left-arm over the wicket. Angling towards leg stump. Burns, as he does, has moved across to off stump. He aims a flick at the ball, missing. It swings back a little, scoots behind his ankle and takes his leg stump.

    England currently 48 - 4 (20.5 overs).

It seems to be a trend with Sky.....

Onto the cricket, what a debacle. Lots of the build up has been around how historically important ball 1 in the Ashes is and Burns gets bowled.....

4 of your top 5 fail to score is not good and leads to the inevitable <150 all out. Pitch looks good, Australia to pile on the runs. Only weather can save England now...

It's even more of a nightmare than I thought it would be!

I'll have to try and avoid my Aussie neighbour up the road.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

It’s not very often we even manage to be competitive in Australia, this series already looks like it’s gonna go the same way. I suppose at least we made over 100!

Had no idea it wasn’t in sky anymore, where does it live these days ? No wonder now tv are sending me half price sky sports offers - I was considering it thinking the ashes was on

Oh dear. It seems we might be in for another “first ball series defining moment” again. It’s well documented that England never recovered from that Harmison ball to third slip all those years ago. I fear the same. At least Cricket Australia will be rubbing their hands on ticket sales. If we do well out there, they just don’t sell any.

Balls, its going to take something special to salvage the situation from this position.
    When is jofra back ?

Very sloppy by England today. Even ignoring that, lack of ruthlessness and not being able to bowl out Australia for under 250 was not good. And the Leach over Broad is looking a terrible decision as well....

Wow! As if by magic a game of cricket has appeared out of nowhere!

If Root and Malan can get to parity on the board then it is anyone's game as we would effectively be 0 for 2 with the Aussies batting last.

Pitch is holding well and needs to become much more two paced by the end of tomorrow. Even a lead of 300 is probably not enough to win (but would be to salvage a highly unlikely draw).

Getting past the new ball is key now.

To add, Hameed is looking good, not too sure about Burns, something is off about him (he did get out to a good ball though).

Have to bat all of tomorrow, or at least until well after tea to have a chance to salvage anything from this test

Our middle order was meant to be a strength. Sadly that is far from the truth, especially with a rusty Stokes. No resilience. Head showed what a no 5 should do in first innings. Take a team from 6 down and score loooooads more.

The English Cricket Team have officially beaten the Wuhan Street Market as the worst use of a bat in history!

Given the talent in the squad the performances have been awful. Beating Australia at home has always been hard, but this is just embarrassing.
