    Leeds night out

Hi all. Me and the mrs are up in Leeds for a day and a sat night
Staying at quebecs hotel. Never been Leeds for a drink : food before
Any recommendations on good places to go for a few drinks in the day or night and some food
    Not a curry or Chinese
Must be all walking distance of city centre. Thanks

Some decent places to eat and drink in Leeds

If you fancy Spanish tapas iberica is very good. Plus it's next to Greek street with a few decent bars.

Other decent places to eat include brasserie blanc which is near the sky bar and a few decent bars near the station

    Anything in particular you're after

Last time I was in Leeds for drinks with the boys we ate at Red's True BBQ, was very good...

Yeah, head up Bank Street from the train station and head along Greek street to iberica would be my plan.

There's a new casino where John Lewis is if you're that way inclined

Reds is good if you like BBQ.

The Northern Monk bar is worth a visit if you like ale.

I've always enjoyed Nation of Shopkeepers as well.

Bundobust and Tharavadu also very good but they are Indian Street food and Kerala Indian respectively.

I've heard good things about Friends of Ham but I've not been.

Whitelocks for ales, a bit pricier than some but always in top condition. Do a mean posh fish finger sandwich there too!

    Depends what you are after

Reds is a great BBQ place
Tattu is really nice but fairly expensive
Frazenda is fantastic - a all you can eat Brazilian style restaurant

Drinking - Greek street or call lane are the best places.

    Amazing.
I sold my house in Leeds in 2012 and moved to Cumbria.
I don't recognise ANY of these new establishments. What a dynamic city. We loved our 10 years there and I doubled my money on the house value (thank you Meanwood Waitrose!)

Have a great night out. We aways used to end up in Mint

The Domino Club (down the back of the barbers). And the Maven (above the tattoo parlour) both do fantastic cocktails in interesting venues. Highly recommended!

I saw this thread too late to contribute usefully, but I hope you had a good time. Leeds definitely gets insanely busy at the weekends, and doubly so at this time of year. It's an OK place, what I would call a two day city at best, you really don't need longer. But it does have a few good restaurants and shops, so maybe for next time.

    Curious.

Never been to Iberica. We tend to go to a few proven spots which never disappoint. If you make it this way again I can give you a couple of pointers.

Leeds is a curious city as it's hugely busy, but fairly uninspired. I've been here 16 years (7 in the city itself, the rest about 20 miles away) and can't really say I've ever really got on with it. For me the main attraction is the transport links and the proximity to more interesting places.

It wasn’t bad. Just we both said we wouldn’t rush back
Thanks for the suggestions though. We will be back in the summer. Weather was dreadful last night.
