Thread: PRS-57 Monopusher on leather - lets see 'em

PRS-57 Monopusher on leather - lets see 'em

    I'll start.

Despite my addiction like of NATO's on most of my watches, I was wondering what the Monopusher would look like on a leather strap.
Ferreting around in my 20mm box I found that most of the leather straps were rather thin, but I did find one thicker one and having fitted it I liked the look and feel of it on my wrist.

Unusually for SWMBO, she commented on the strap combo but suggested the leather would look nicer if it were a lighter colour. But not having anything lighter in my collection I decided to get myself something suitable.b Having had a Toshi strap way back on a Breitling B1 I remembered being impressed with the supple leather and general quality, so off I went to have a look at the latest offerings on his website.
    https://toshi-straps.co.uk

Lots of lovely leather straps to choose from, but I finally settled for a Horween Essex.

It's beautifully soft and supple and very comfortable to wear.

    Some more pics.

So lets see some more on leather!

As much as I'm enjoying my MP one thing I have quite clear: you don't want to put it on a NATO. It looks superb on that leather strap

    That Toshi looks perfect
I have mine on this but thinking it might look better on either a chunky strap like yours or maybe a Shell Cordovan- haven’t decided yet

I was hoping my strap would arrive today but pics to follow when it does.

Looks like it suits a fat slab of hide. It’s great with a chunky jumper, a real winter watch.

Suits a darker/black leather strap best, I think. Mid brown -doesn’t contrast enough.

On a Rios 1931 strap. This strap is new, but these get much darker and age beautifully over time.

Fitted with a CWC leather strap for fixed bars which originally came with one of their dive watches I acquired used.

Yet to find it but somewhere I have a dark blue Geckota leather wrist strap which I'd like to try, as I cannot get the perfect fit with the CWC, slightly loose, or too tight.

These looks great, all of them

I see I am going to have to get some leather straps for mine which arrives tomorrow. I have very few leather ones being a NATO or Tropic fan.

It looks very good on leather, but the white dial's crying out for Haveston canvas ;-) . Either a Flightdeck or a Bakelite-F. The dark blue of the Flightdeck would work well with the blued hands and blue dial markings. IMHO. I don't have one, but here are the straps with a white dial for an idea of the look . . .

Mine arrived today and I have put it on this leather Rally style strap.

It’s a wonderful watch. The chrono pusher is positive with out being too stiff. The dial is a thing of beauty. I was lucky to just get mine before they sold out, serial 46 of the 50.

Many thanks, at work today my MD who has a Rolex GMT said (with no prompting) what a great watch. I let him know that they are unfortunately sold out now.

He may be looking at the more expensive Vertex.

    This, from John Keiller:

Handmade to order by John in Scotland. He takes your wrist measurements, choice of leather and choice of thread for stitching (in this case the colour is a perfect patch for the "old radium" lume on the dial) so it really is bespoke. Ł45 posted and worth every penny. john.keiller@gmail.com or 07786273190

To say I'm delighted with the strap would be an understatement. My poor pics don't do it justice.

Early Christmas present for myself. Petrol Toshi strap with natural stitching to compliment the dial. My first from Toshi and won't be my last. A quality piece of leather.

I call this kind of watches "strap monsters", they look good in just about any strap you can imagine.

Looks great on steel bracelet. Can you tell me what kind of bracelet it is and where I could get one?

Interesting, I’ve wondered if the bracelet for the MP45 would fit.

Would like to know the origins of yours.

Nice combination, the strap really works with the blue on the dial. Looks genuinely vintage in that strap

^^^Such a lovely looking watch. And that bracelet really suits it.

Such a shame I wasn't in a position to get one when they were available.

Cream face with leather or canvas - for me. Never seem to see any/many on the Friday Thread.
