Eisenkiesel - the modern Quartz Rolex, and also Platinum Meteorite President
A couple of recent watches I got. I thought I would share the Eisenkiesel in particular as it is very rare to see one. The platinum meteorite president is a nice comparison, so I have shared that too in the next post.

That platinum DD is spectacular. I usually like a fluted bezel on DD so the platinum versions don’t usually do much for me but with the Meteorite and baguettes it doesn’t want anything busy competing for attention. That combination might be my idea of the perfect Rolex.
Lovely dials on both of those. Interesting theme with the dials matching the case/bracelet colour.
I’m confused, where does quartz come into it?
Edit. Do you mean quartz as in the stone rather than movement?

'A German term, translating to Iron Quartz. "Kiesel" was originally a term for quartz, but has changed meaning over time. In today's use, the word mostly refers to a pebble. On the other hand, silicic acid is still called "Kieselsäure" in german, because it is derived from quartz as its anhydride.
A quartz that is colored red, orange or brown by hematite inclusions. Translucent to almost opaque.
The term "eisenkiesel" is sometimes also used in a wider sense, as a synonym of ferruginous quartz, for any quartz with iron oxides and hydroxide mineral inclusions (hematite, limonite) that is yellow, olive, orange or brown.'

Usually I'm not in favour of diamonds on a watch, but that's an exception, with platinum and the silvery meteorite dial it's all rather fabulous, while feeling more subtle than some Uber-Rolex. And appropriately modelled for a glamorous black tie evening too.
They both look superb but especially the second one - it's a much more pleasing application of a meteorite dial than the current GMT and it's one of the few watches I've seen with baguettes that I like.

I thought too that these were worth sharing as there are not many good quality images of either model. Both being rather rare.
I agree that both dials work perfectly with the choice of precious metal for each.
Agree too that the use of diamonds is very subtle. I do not normally like diamonds on my watches, but these work perfectly and pass for normal indices unless you look closely.
Smooth bezel and the very white lustre of platinum actually enhances the meteorite dial, bringing it more to attention.
I took a macro of it today.
It's super hard to photograph though, and the sunlight showed up any dust specks.
They are both very attractive - particularly the quartz model. Never seen that dial before.

Movement is the normal mechanical one.
Both are pretty rare pieces, the Eisenkiesel being most rare. I believe these dials are very hard to make and have a very high reject rate in manufacture.
I don’t often get ‘watch envy’ but now I am! Beautiful pieces OP….
Lovely watches, thanks for posting, think we sometimes forget that there is more variety to Rolex than the ones we see every day on here and these are so much nicer IMO.

Thanks, yes these are very current models. Both are fairly recent releases and on Rolex's website. But both are extremely rare.
They are extremely nice in real life, but are hard to photograph (especially Eisenkiesel, which I really struggled to capture how it looks).

It's actually really good to see when Rolex experiment a bit with dials and make interesting ones. This watch has echoes of Grand Seiko dial making.
Don’t really get the GS comparison, as I’ve said both great watches and yes nice to see Rolex working meteorite and Quartz .. do GS?
Can see the comparison with GS's interesting dial work. Certainly some look rather like a meteorite - SBGA403, for example.
I have a couple of GS, and they do some incredible dial work.
Some have a look that reminded me of this, but you are right that they don't do anything identical to this.

They’re there, you just have to go into the rose gold for one and the platinum for the other.

No idea, I can't afford it either
I think all Rolex go to POA after about £40k. You can have a watch with the price showing and it goes to POA if you change dial or bezel as it tips the price over the magic number.
