Rolex GMT Master II Batman Eye Candy

    Hi girls and boys,

It's been a while since I posted here (well, since I've used my camera to be honest), had some time off from watches. But this one came rather unexpectedly so the camera itch came back. I know that you all know everything there is to know about this watch, so no point writing details about it, I'll just let the photos do the talking. As always, thanx for watching and I'll update the thread as I will shoot more photos.

    Cheers

Superb work (no surprise there). SO much nicer on the jubilee IMO, too!

Superb pics, mine aren’t a patch on yours.

Jubilee is the perfect strap for this watch :-)

Hey Tony, thank you. And I have to agree with you on Jubilee. When the first Bat came out, I never was a fan of that polished center link on oyster bracelet. I saw a picture of Batman on Sub bracelet, and that looked superb. But when I tried the jubilee model, that was it. The polished center links didn't bother me, and it is very comfortable.

Brilliant pics. Never tire of seeing excellent watch photography.

Agree that jubilee is really comfy - mine has not left my wrist 24/7 for a year!

I decided to tackle the polished centre links issue on the oyster bracelet head on. Massive improvement IMO, although I'd still prefer the jubilee.

As Wysie asks plus how please.
I like to take a picture or two but it’s all sports stuff so a world away from what you are doing. You really have captured things wonderfully .

Well thanx Tony for that, my wallet is giving me the looks...
But yeah, definitely better than the OEM polish, it's just another world in difference. The PCL's in my opinion make it less sporty, and given the fact that the watch face is pretty glossy (the ceramic insert, polished hands, indexes etc), putting PCL's is a tad much. And I know saying this and having jubilee doesn't make any sense (and it doesn't) but that jubilee just works. Can't describe it. Maybe it's the small polished links .. I dunno.

Thanx Guys. So my setup hasn't changed for years. I'm using the mid tier Canon APSC camera (750D) paired with Canon 60mm Macro f/2.8 lens. But light is the key, so depending what I wanna get, I could use just one light (like in the first picture, very low positioned RGB panel on 3600K) or up to three lights (on the last picture, from the top is the static halogen light, from the bottom RGB panel on low intensity and from the top the speedlight with blue gel). It's very different from sports photography because I control all the aspects, from light to objects to point of focus. I would say it's easier :)

This is actually the consequence of simply brushing the original bracelet. It was done by another TZer, and it's actually the second one that he's done for me.

That said, I still prefer the jubilee by some margin. As noted, it really does work on this watch, even with the polished elements.

Each time I see those pictures Tony I think I should man up and send my BLNR bracelet for a brush too. How it doesn’t come from the factory like that is beyond me.

It’s amazing how someone can take pics that just make things look so good over another who would make it look bland.

Thank you PTJoe, glad that you like them. I'm not in the UK unfortunately, I'm from Croatia. It's not really a problem to take photos of your watches, but I don't know how we would make this work logistically

Thos ics of the Batman on jubilee are wonderful. There as least as good as the Rolex publicity images.
I tried one on in the summer but can't pay twice retail for one. Congratulations.

Batman/Batgirl, for me is the best GMT on the market. Currently sitting tight 2 years in since being put on the waiting list......worth the wait!??

Honestly...I don't think so. They are worth their retail price, but waiting for a watch manufacturer for 2 years when they are making a million of their watches a year just seems crazy. I've waited for this one for 2 and a half years, and actually, I forgot to be on the list.
There are really epic watches out there for that kind of money (am still at retail price) which you can get far sooner.
Unless we are talking about the aftermarket prices and demand...that's a whole different story. And actually, that last thing is the worst part of Rolex, and that GMT Master.
