UPDATE - website now live…New watch company… Pagoda watches

Absolutely no connection to this other than a friend in the military mentioned he knows a few of the guys. Has anyone else seen this at all?

Errr, ex Hereford blokes who like watches, that’s about it!! Apparently being made in Switzerland, he’s designing the Pilots watch, when I say friend I mean a guy I met in a meeting who noticed my 666 and we had a quick watch chat!

Website is now live….. I made a comment on their Instagram about it being blatantly obvious who they are targeting with the slogan “authenticity is everything” and then got instantly blocked!!

They’re laying it on a bit thick aren’t they?

Not for me but good luck to them.

I really fancied the Tactical 2 Alpha until I saw the price.

Won’t knock them for trying, but the brand name immediately makes me think of something Chinese. That makes it very hard to associate with something from Hereford, and at a high price for a start-up.

There are many, eg Elliot Brown, I’d choose over those.

But good luck to them. Feedback can only help.

    Mmmm not for me.
The designs are a bit tacticool cliche.
Fair play for giving it a go.

    Spar-tans, then?

An elite unit of keyboard warriors with the call sign "Incel" and a .22 air rifle because .177 just ain't enough firepower.

    Oooooooooooooooooh!

I have to admit, that never occurred to me at all.

P.S. Should I be asking: What colour is the Pagoda in Hereford?

Are they named after a chinese take-away near the barracks?

Wow, it all looks a bit handbaggy if that genuinely is their target.
Especially as Bremont haven't made up anything about military connections or history.
I am all for veterans doing great things, but being a veteran doesn't make you a great watch designer, and it looks like they have slightly fallen into the same "PVD and stencilled numerals" cliche trap that Breitling used to trowel on so thickly.
    Not for me.

LOL, stranger things have happened. :-)

Oh well, good luck to them. The watches aren't terrible. We're just horribly cynical here.

    Word! True dat.

I wish them well. Maybe they could team up with Zulu Alpha straps?

They’re not terrible but look like luminox “Lumi-Knockoff” perhaps but 3 times as expensive?

Pagoda Troop was the callsign of the anti terrorist troop from B Squadron who stormed the Iranian embassy in 1980.

Their prices are a bit ballsy. They use the same movement as C Ward divers but are more expensive than a brand that is well established.

But what’s the distinction between those and 200/1000m dive watches, in terms of mittiness?

I quite like the Bravo, but at nigh on 900 notes without a bracelet? That'll be a 'no' from me.

Ł300 and I'd possibly consider it, silly name aside.

Building out unit watches is very important to us. Our founding team has served extensively at the tip of the spear within the British and US Military.

During this time we’ve bought a great number of bespoke watches from the units in which we’ve served.

While meeting requirements, not one of these watches has come from a company whose founders had served in the military.

Authenticity matters in the Military community. This was our opportunity.

Our Special Project watches are built from our Tactical Range, with bespoke features and detailing created exclusively for your professional organisation.

    I like his airsoft rifle....

The Eotech looked like a sketchy clone, and the "pmag/emag" had some awfully bronze looking brass in it..... so it got me curious.

After zooming in you can clearly see the "Manufactured in Taiwan" and RWA dust cover.

Is it naive of me to think that anyone in the military would be very unlikely to wear an automatic watch as their primary timepiece?

And amazingly they don't appear to have delivered any watches, usually a #pagodawatches would bring up loads of results on IG. But strangely not in this case.

I also know someone who paid a deposit at the end of Feb '22 and has received naff all, communication, or watch.
