    No one is questioning this.

The point is that the AD is also perfectly entitled to sell any model to whoever he wants, and that as such he has the right to blacklist you from any future Rolex purchase.

If I may add (from the sidelines of course) that I do hope luxury watch manufacturers don't start to chip their products and begin using GPS to establish who's wearing them.

    ^Excellent idea, O.

We could also use software that reverses factored primes via the general number field sieve.

Vacheron are using blockchain already I think, or are at least looking in to it.

Presumably it makes a watch trackable and traceable as it changes hands? If so this could deter some greys (and their AD suppliers) but maybe Rolex don't want that. Who knows? Who cares? No me. RAJEN, probably. He thinks I'm an "idiot" because I believe that if you've paid for the watch then it is yours to do with as you please. (Crazy, I know. But then I'm weird like that.)

It would help if more people knew this. What we think of as specifically a Rolex circus also applies to other brands across the luxury goods world. Rolex are not unique in this.

Never mind, next I shall be attempting to reverse the arrow of time in order to stretch the TF buying window.

What about the shop keeper in Mr Benn? I don't remember him ever asking for or receiving any money despite a lot of outfits being tried on and used.

    Special relationship I'd guess.

This is a problem that has vexed me for over forty years. I hope someone has the answer.
Also, I don't recall Mr Benn referring to him as "my shopkeeper".

I recommend you avoid the reboot, as it's awful:

Mr Benn and The Tiger Who Came To Tea (a cross-over vehicle which did neither parties any good)

I preferred Tiger in the bed by Claude Balls.

    (sorry, cobwebs on that one).

The first example is probably the most problematic as the dealer is then shown in the public domain as potentially selling to a flipper. Problem is that once the watch is out of your hands you have no control of how it is marketed.
We all know dealers are feeding the grey market, Rolex know dealers are feeding the grey market and are quite happy with it because if that route was shut down and there was no instant profit waiting lists would end for most models and they would be available at a discount again as they were five years ago. They just don’t want you to know they are happy and don’t want it flaunted.
It’s a sad state of affairs but there are thankfully other makes available.
I see, thanks. In that case I’d sell privately to someone and keep the warranty card just like a dealer would! In the end, we’re all ADs.

That’s socialism for you. Tony Benn, scourge of the shopkeeping classes.

Clearly it’s not for you, and likewise, you’ll not be someone they’d want to sell to, and that’s equally fine.
However for most collectors, they’ll be totally fine with it, and they have huge waiting lists of collectors happy to sign up.
Collectors or people wanting a profit/investment?

But this tends to be for models produced in tens, not tens of thousands...

And for things that are generally nice to look at, the Nautilus for example looks like a high polished Accurist. Even the PP museum has it tucked away.

You can be a collector, but still be pleased to see your watch values increase.
I always try and buy what I love.

Idiots will come and say- you paid for the watch and it is yours to do as you please but in reality if AD allotted the watch with the assumption that you are not a flipper and that you wouldn’t flip it in a short time, it is reasonable to consider this. The practical question is- what is considered a short time. The rest is just some noise by the usual coterie of losers who come and p*SS on every Rolex thread.

Me too and I find I love the little bugg3rs even more if they are worth double RRP

Grown man with dignity who are happy with their lot in life and confident of their choices don’t go hoarse talking about watches that they don’t fancy or making pathetic assumptions about people who do fancy those watches. Fact.

Can anyone please let me know when we will cover this subject again next month? I would like to put it in the diary. Don’t want to miss it.

Check back every week. A month is too long a wait. A lot of people can’t sleep if we don’t have this ‘discussion’ periodically. Very short periods at that. 😃
