***THE NEW FUNDRAISER IS NOW ACTIVE***

About a month ago I posted saying that Virgin Money Giving was closing its charity website on 30 November 2021, which meant that we would have to find another platform for the fundraiser. I contacted the charities that we support and they all suggested JustGiving as the new platform. There were some teething problems because JustGiving doesn't support multiple charities on one team but they were very good and provided a work-around.

The new fundraiser differs from the Virgin one inasmuch as you could make a single donation and Virgin would divide the moey equally amongst our supported Charities. On JustGiving, when you click through to the fundraiser, you will see a list of the 5 charities and you select which one you wish to donate to. Please keep a check on the value of donations to each charity and try to keep the sums as even as possible.

Since starting the fundraiser, we have raised £185,000 (including gift aid), thanks to everyone who has supported it.

There's a new banner at the top of the forum page but in case ad-blockers stop it displaying, the direct link is

    https://www.justgiving.com/team/tz-uk

    Great work Eddie.

Just made a small donation to MacMillan to get that one on it’s way. I’m sure these will be just as successful as the previous.

Edited to say I’m not sure that my donation is showing, I have the confirmation so I presume they have it?

    Wow, £185,000 that’s amazing

Well done Eddie for developing the idea and getting it up and running.

And well done to everyone who has contributed to the fundraiser so generously.

If any donation made is to the charity with the lowest figure, the suns for each charity should always remain fairly close.

Just tested it by sending a tenner to Claire's House.

Worth noting that if someone says they are going to make a donation to the FR, you need to check each charity page.

Just popped a donation in for each charity.

I couldn't see a way of doing it but is it possible to just make a single donation and for it to be shared equally amongst the 5 charities?

That's a staggering contribution, well done all and to Eddie for setting it up. I was a tiny part of the reason we went with VMG at the time as I'm a Virgin Money employee (and still there by the skin of my teeth!) - the savings on fees etc compared to JustGiving have meant that the chosen charities got that bit extra cash paid directly to them

Sad to see the new company owners didn't feel it was worth their while keeping VMG going and the loss of jobs and charity help etc as a result :(

Not sure but you dropped in 5 x £20.

Just thought you deserved someone to highlight that, R

I intended to put in a £100 donation and have it shared equally amongst the 5 charities but that's now not an option under the JustGiving system, hence the 5 seperate gifts.

Well done all and especially Eddie. Great work. For the question I posed in the G&D and kind assistance offered by the amazing breadth and depth of collective knowledge within this platform I have paid in a few quid. Thanks.
