Don’t think there are too many of these old school entertainers left. Thick end of 80 year career. Quite remarkable.

Sad to hear. About 15 years ago he was a guest on Jonathan Ross' radio show one week when Mark Lamarr was sitting in. He had some wonderful old stories to tell. Shared a house with John Lennon at one time, as I recall.

Total charmer, and always grinning like a Cheshire; as said, not many of these childhood stars remain.

    RIP.

What a lovely man, with an unquenchable zest for life - a real trooper. Brought joy and sparkle wherever he went. Another great gone. RIP LB

P.S. Nice that he still treasured the silver $ given to him by SD Jnr to the end - and I was always against the gay jibes directed at him by other comedians over the years, cheap and uncalled for.

Think he was just of that age where it wasn't done to come out the closet.

RIP for a life well lived

Indeed, different days, its not acceptable now thankfully but shouldn't have been then either.
RIP LB, always smiling and wishing simply to entertain, another lost from a golden era.
