Sad to hear. About 15 years ago he was a guest on Jonathan Ross' radio show one week when Mark Lamarr was sitting in. He had some wonderful old stories to tell. Shared a house with John Lennon at one time, as I recall.

P.S. Nice that he still treasured the silver $ given to him by SD Jnr to the end - and I was always against the gay jibes directed at him by other comedians over the years, cheap and uncalled for.

I was always against the gay jibes directed at him by other comedians over the years, cheap and uncalled for.

Indeed, different days, its not acceptable now thankfully but shouldn't have been then either.
RIP LB, always smiling and wishing simply to entertain, another lost from a golden era.
